View Full Version : Hate to ask, but...
I know there is a calculator on this site where you can calculate the RPM's at various speeds with various gears. I did a search and couldn't find it, but I've used it before, so I know it's around. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

ok so I am a dumb*** how do I know which gear is in the stock MM the oly thing I hear people changing is the rearend to a 4.10 do you divide this in some way to find the gear ratio....Not a car mechanic type but I am trying
Marauders come stock with 3:55 gears.

The stock rear in a MM is 3.55:1. Most people talk of the 4.10:1 in order to make the engine torque more effective, but the wheels turn slower. So if your engine RPM is 2250 @ 70MPH, stock, and you put in a 4.10 rear end your RPM @ 70MPH might be ~2600.
You sacrifice top end speed with low end torque. If you went the other way, from 3.55:1 to say 3.10:1, your top speed would increase, your RPM @ 70MPH might reduce to say ~1800, but accelleration off the lights you would have to time it with a calendar. :-)

I have a static page that displays the stock gears versus 4.10's...
