Welcome! My '08 plan was to buy an '03 Town Car and spend '08 working on a Cobra-Whipple setup for the fastest Town Car sleeper in the world. But reading this thread: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6528&page=3&highlight=town+car states that the Town Car windshield is raked forward and it would be impossible to fit a DOHC setup. True?

Thanks guys. Just maybe you will make a new friend if this setup is possible! But l may just buy a cheap '03-05 CVPI and use the same setup... or a Navigator.

Don't allow these guys to rain on your parade. You can do anything you want to, it just cost's money; as in "speed costs money, how fast you wanna go?"
Take a look in this month's Mustang Monthly, where the entire front suspension, shock towers and all were replaced so an FE block could be shoehorned into the newly formed cavern of a '65 Mustang.
I know of two cases where 4V engines were put into: #1 Cobra crate motor into a Crown Vic (Tom Doan) and #2 a 4V MM motor into a GranMarquis, by John Kuhn. Both are members on this board, and I got it from John, last weekend his cost was in excess of 50K, and he had his own body and fabricating shop helping out. In both cases, when asked, "would you do it again?", the answer came back an emphatic NO, not in a million years!
It's easy to come up with cool ideas; but unless you've got lots of resources, and huge quantities of cash, you could end up parting out the remaining pieces-parts on eBay in a few years. ....but you learn many things.
BTW, you know, of course, although there's little room for a 4V motor in the engine bay of your project car, there's plenty of room for large displacement crate engines, which, in MHO would be a much wiser choice. Please keep us posted on your project, as they're always fun to watch.
You can make as much if not more power with a 2 Valve.

Yep, loose that fan shroud and force feed it with a centrifugal blower!

Howdy, and WELCOME!
Build the 2v and Blow it :D
Or, go hog wild and custom rig a 4v.
Either way....sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeper ;)

Thanks for the welcomes, support, suggestions and information!
Well, I want to go really 'hog wild' in the sense of the points I want to hit:
High 11's
Modular engine
<$10-12K parts, tuning (no labor)
reliable drivetrain (daily driver)
I'll have to do some more research on the centrifugal blower/2V setup as I have spent all my time on the 4V/twin screw. I spend alot of time on CVN and dont know of any guys with the power I am looking for with the 2V combo...yet. ;)
I have not considered the Marauder because I wouldnt be reusing the engine or transmission or exhaust or rear end so it would be a waste to spend $17K instead of $10K for a Town Car or $4K for a CVPI.
The CV's and GM's have the same size engine bay of the MM, that I am not worried about, its only the TC thats different it appears.
Thanks guys, keep the ideas coming!

You can call me and I will give you my input. The problems may not be as bad as my car was due to the fact that yours is a lot newer. As far as my costs go that number included custom paint job and body work. we also rebuilt all suspension and whatever else the car needed. The chassis had a 160K on it. We had to cut the front crossmember and box it in to get oil pan clearance. The biggest problem was the different electrical hook ups, that was beyond me and my body shop guys who did the job. I do not think that you would spend money like I did. If I had to do it over I would have built the 2V motor but have to tell you I love my CAMMER. Do your homework and then make your decision and ask a lot of questions. PM me if you need to and I will give you my Phone number. Good Luck on this project as it would be very cool. I also agree with the idea of putting a SC on the car!

Thanks, I really appreciate that help. I think I have decided to go with the Navigator though for several reasons:
Gas mileage isn't an issue as my commute is rather short.
I found that a 2007 Navigator front clip will bolt on making a rather outdated (cheap) truck look brand new.
A Navigator is more fit for someone my age (21)
I can put major power to the wheels just as affordable.
I may not be able to hit 11's with the 5667lbs, but 600HP out of a 5.4 32V is realistic and should put me in the 12's.I will check back if I change my mind, sorry for the short stay! :burnout:

You should check out the OLOA CV. That car is sick. It's pushing in the mid 500's I believe and almost 600 for tq. Talk to member PowerSurge too. He has an '01 or '98 ( I can't remember) CV with a Lightning engine in it and too is putting out some serious power.
