I received your standard tune for a 03 300B w/255 rears about a year or 2 ago. Will turning off the O/D make any difference in the 1/4 mile time?

You never run the car at the track with OD on

The OD would probably never engage over the short distance of the 1/4 mile. With stock gears and the 255's you probably won't make it out of 2nd gear. And I believe the transmission cannot handle the WOT shift into OD.

You're right about the 1/4 shift points with stock gears. Probably won't hit third until just before the traps.

Interesting point on the O/D. I just figured the stock chip had different shift sequencing for the O/D setting, never thought about hard running affecting survivability.

Some member's run a 255/55-18. Tire diameter is about 1/2" larger than the 245/55's.

Exactly correct sir. At MVIV race day with Reinhart tune, KDW2 255/55/18s on the rear, WOT, I was hitting third just before the finish line. Kinda frustrating to have to let off the gas and start braking.:bigcry: :( Spoils the :burnout: rush.

I learned from this board in advance to drag with OD off and TC off.

Pete,

Good point about turning off the TC too.

Hey, are you still running 3:55's in the back end? I just got 4:10's installed, along with a tune and a CAI, and it's a whole new car.

BTW, how's Freddy doing?
