April CAM Meet at Bert's

In our last MVV planning meeting we discussed having our next CAM meeting at Bert's 50's Diner in Mechanicsville, MD on Sunday, 22 April at 2:30 PM. The planning committee will be there an hour early to get up to date and then we'd like to update the rest of the CAM members on the progress to date.

This would be the 3rd April CAM meet at Bert's. It's a great little soda shop with really good Ice Cream. We can also help Chris celebrate her 29th birthday :birthday: . It's also our only event south of the DC line each year.

WARNING: When coming through the new Hughsville bypass the 40 MPH construction zone speed limit is enforced daily. 51 tickets this past weekend.

Coming from Route 301 in Waldorf:

From Route 301, Turn on Route 5 South (It’s a big intersection with “Best Buys” and “CircuitCity” on the corner)

Continue on Route 5 South about 11-12 miles you’ll see the Charlotte Hall Flea Market (aka. The Mechanicsville Mall). About a mile past that is the Route 6 Intersection (aka. New Market Turner Road).

Continue on Route 5 about 3 miles and Burt’s 50’s Dinner is on your left (Northbound lane). There’s a chopped 1949? Yellow Merc with Red Flames on the roof of the building. It’s kinda hard to miss.

If you see Mechanicsville Elementary School on your right, you just past it so turn around and head north.

Coming from Route 2/4 (route 2 merges into route 4):

Continue South on Route 4 to Prince Frederick Ford/Mercury Dealer (Aka. Mecca, where I bought the Mighty Merc) and turn right on Route 231.

Continue on Route 231 about 12 miles to Route 5 South in Hughesville.

Turn Left onto Route 5 South and continue on about 3 miles you’ll see the Charlotte Hall Flea Market (aka. The Mechanicsville Mall). About a mile past that is the Route 6 Intersection (aka. New Market Turner Road).

I wish this meet was Saturday. I will be racing Sunday at Mason Dixon. The last private event was rained out and it was pre-paid. The good news is we should be done by noon.

Good luck at Mason Dixon, I don't think I'll make it this go-round, still getting some things together myself. The weather has made me slow to get ready. I will hope to make the May NVMC day b/c I need some practice runs before PINKS!

Great. You should be able to run the 111 miles and be at Bert's 50s Diner by 2:15 PM with 15 minutes to spare. I'm sure you might even do better than that. :D Think you can do it by 2 PM. ;)
