Torque nuts & bolts to specs is a good thing for many reasons. My question is for small applicatoins and not haveing a small torque wrench how can one feel 25lbs tq. or guess close ?

You can go to a local auto parts store and pick one up for $20-50 bucks.

The more I realize the importance the more I see a need. I'll pick one up this week.

For items that use a very low torque reading I use the German Torque wrench GutenTiet; pronounced "Good N Tight". Some might not agree but hey it's worked for me. Each his/her own.

I bought a Sears Craftsman #44593 3/8" Microtork Wrench.
It measures from 25 - 250 IN-LBs.
I used it on the long, thin intake manifold bolts that require 89 IN-LBs* if I recall correctly.
*7-1/2 FT-LBs won't even register on a standard Torque wrench.

What kind of torque wrench do you guys suggest for the Spark Plugs ?
They are supposed to be torqued to 7 - 12 IN LBS.

I've always heard spark plugs should be torqued to 5-6 Ft Lbs......12 In Lbs is only 1 Ft Lb (finger tight)???

Oops, your off by a factor of 12. The Ford manual specifies:
11 lbs-ft (15 Nm) . That would give you a value of 132 in-lbs.
Many recommend a range of 10 -12 ft-lbs. Getting a wrench as
described above and dialing in 120 - 144 in-lbs would meet the specs.

Another reason we only deal in Newton Metres (Nm) at the Ford production plant. A bit less confusion.

That is a very good wrench, with an excellent range for low torque. I think it is the one I have, not the one I recommended in my prior post. The "feel" of the Microtork wrenches prevents over-torquing small fastners. Works well with oil-pan and rocker-cover bolts.
