...only she doesn't know it yet! She may not want to join up but I will show her how to get around the site.
My daughter will be getting her license in a couple of weeks and the wife and I were looking to get her a used car - she works hard in school and works 15-20 hrs a week at the local CVS so we figured she deserves a little help.
We had been considering a Taurus from Enterprise but then my wife spotted an '04 CV LX Sport w/37k miles on it. Original asking $16k - got it for $13400. We are taking her to the dealer on Thursday evening for a big surprise - she does'nt know we bought her a car much less what it is! Of course it's black w/limo tint and dark charcol leather - a junior version of mine!
A special thanks to RoyL.Pita for the OASIS report!
I'll post some pictures of the look on her face!

Thanks Gordon - the idea was to limit the HP.
Otherwise I would have just got her an MM and let the mods beguin!

Hey - Get your mind out of the gutter Paul. All I meant was it would have been nice to be able to haul 5 people around in my first car!

But Paul, you could have disconnected the turbo and it does have a nice size back seat too. ;)

I can see I'm not gonna get any relief on this one!
It's good to have friends like the ones I've found on this site - thank you all for the good wishes and kind thoughts.
If it's not raining to hard tomorrow afternoon I hope to get some good pictures of the surprise.

I almost stopped by with it yesterday! Anyone got a spare MAF so I can install my old air filter box on it?

Hey Paul, I think the 04 CV has the MM air box already....

I already tried it Charlie - It will acept the old Air Hog filter but the inlet to the box on the LX is smaller and does not seal to the front crossmember like the MM unit. The LX upper box cover has a smaller opening and bolt patern for the MAF than the MM unit. The top and bottom halves are just a little off so I can't mix and match either. I would need the 80mm MAF to make the MM air box work. If I go that route I might as well install a CAI at the same time. I guess I'm gonna have to hang around the CV site to get some pointers on the 2V motors.

There should be some good pics and video from this Saturday. She's enrolled in the Teen Street Survival driving course sponsered by Tire Rack and the local BMW club. Dry AND wet skid pads!

Here are some pics from the BMW event by me. I was shocked to see a few trucks and SUVs there. Talk about body roll.
