Jason,
I have been using Meguiar's Insane Tire Shine for a little less than a year now, and love the product.
It stays on for a long time. And I mean, stays on.
Wanting to strip off the several coats already applied, I have tried Bleech White, All wheel tire cleaner, etc. to no avail.
Any tricks up your sleeve on what to use that will remove these several coats?
Thanks in advance!
Mike.

Mike,
I have never had to remove tire dressing in the ways you describe. Usually it comes off after dirt, dust, and other sediment dirty it up and it rains, things of that nature. I clean tires with a brush during the washing stages but have never had an issue where dressing was stuck on. If it's stuck on, that's some good stuff.
I use Meguiar's Tire Gel, and have been for years. The stuff is great. I avoid any aerosol tire dressings because the spray often ends up on the lips of the wheel well (Overspray).
If I was in your situation, I would take a stab at cleaning your tires with a wash-bucket, brush, and Dawn soap. Dawn is harsh on rubber and plastics, but it may be the cure for your issue. Immediately following, give Meguiar's Tire Gel a shot and get yourself a foam tire applicator while you're at it (Usually right next to the gel, very inexpensive).
Hope I was of some assistance to ya.

Thanks Jason!,
I do not drive the MM in the rain unless I get caught in it.
Over time, the Insane Tire shine does lose some of it's gloss, just wanted to remove all of it for a fresher look.
I will try Dawn next time I give her a bath, and see what that yields.
Best,
Mike.

Mike,
I know exactly what your talking about,I have the same issue. Bleech-White
seems to have little effect,I'll try the dawn myself.

Think this would work to get the blue paint, or whatever it is, off the sides of the tires. Brand new tires and each one has a spot of blue on it from the manufacturer. Looks a little tacky.

I sometimes use Goop Hand Cleaner. Does wonders for me in getting old tire dressing off.

Try Greased Lightning or Mean Green; they work great on everything else. Im sure they're available at your local grocery stores.

I run a detail shop in Louisiana and I have run across this problem on a few occasions...use a degreaser and a stiff nylon brush. It takes a little work but it will come off...you may have to repeat the process two or three times depending how thick the sludge.

I always use degreaser and a nylon brush to clean my tires of old tire shine.
