Are the pedals and door sills suppose to be polished?

I thought they were. Why, yours aren't?

ldawg
04-11-2007, 10:36 AM
No they don't look like it. If they were polished they should shine right? Do you have the pedals and sills? If so can you send pictures of them? I tried calling CJ no answer.

Yes, I guess CJ called on Saturday and said my pedals and sills were shipped out. I received them on Monday. Do you have a set of pedals and sills?

If their website was www.dynoproauto.com/ (http://www.dynoproauto.com/), it appears to be down.

I don't believe they are polished as in to chrome-like luster, but are machined aluminum look, they have "polishing" machine marks though which look cool.

I'm speaking of the pedals though, I've not seen the sills up close, saw a pic once and believe it too was machined aluminum.

Do you have any pictures of the pedals?

Polished aluminum.

Do you have any pictures of the pedals? Mine look like aluminum not polished. If polished, I know they don't look exactly like chrome do they but similar?

I don't think they look even close to chrome, just finely machined aluminum.

I do not have pics, they are not in my car, sorry.

Also the Mustang dead pedal.

Took the pics right after I installed them right out of the box. After 20,000+ miles they look almost the same.

Mine aren't that nice the look dull. When did you purchase your?

BigCars4Ever

My sills have a brushed look to them which works out great. When they get a little scuffed I just drag a green scotch brite pad across them and they look like new again.

FWIW:
To me, polished aluminum looks almost like chrome...a VERY shiny reflective finish.
My DynoPro Pedals and Door Sill Plates were machined aluminum...that is, they were bright aluminum, but not a polished mirror-like finish.

I wonder what step they missed, or didn't complete. Is CJ aware of this?

ldawg

I like the polished look better. Do you have a set of pedals and sills Dragcity? If it said satin on the web it would be different but it says polished and that is what I paid for. Would you like a set of satin ones?:)

Breadfan

Yeah i think something is up with yours, the ones I saw had the machining marks that make them brighter silver.

Like this example:
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/iwwida.pvx?;item?item_no=SRP-2457CB-AT%20%201&comp=LRS

Yours are more like these which are listed as satin finish:

ldawg

Yes they should be polished not satin

Dragcity
04-12-2007, 01:15 PM
No, I do not have them. Not much for shiney/polished things on the iterior. I do like the satin finish over polished.

If you wanted polished, paid for polished, then you certainly should have polished. I'm sure it is a simple misunderstanding that will be made right.

I'm sure he'll want what you have back.

Keep us all posted...

I talked to CJ yesterday about the pedals and sills. He told me that about 9 or 10 months ago they changed the process on the sills and pedals so they would look like a satin finish. I asked if they still can make any more like the polished old ones he said he would let me know. He also said if I didn't like the ones I have that I can return them.

Yea, it would be nice, but in reality winter didn't arrive until mid January. We're paying for it now. Glad I resisted the urge to take the snows off...

RayJay, I put my shovels away the day after St. Patrick's Day. And practice.... "God put it there, let him take it away"...

I don't own a snowblower. What kind of Buffalonian would I be?

I took my snows off. Damn, I may have to stay home on Monday....

My Chromed Gods Head badges took a real beating from the salt this winter. I can see the copper/brass plating already. Front one is pitted so bad, It looks like Old Mercury has a bad case of ACNE.....

Summer will be here some day. Seems we already had our 10 days of Spring about three weeks ago....

Good luck with getting the correct replacement...

The snow is so wet and heavy I wasn't sure the blower would move it. Hard to tell how much we got because it compacted so much. At least 16" and its still coming down.

I feel for you. We are only getting cold rain. A bit windy, but nothing much.

I refuse to shovel, so for the Wifes sake, IK hope it doesn't snow here.

Update about my pedals I talked to CJ yesterday and he said send the sills back to him and he will take care of it for me. It will cost $20 for the pedals and $60 for the sills to be redone. They only make them in the satin look now.

I won mine in a raffle nearly two years ago. They are BRUSHED, and shiney, definately NOT like a chrome wheel...nor even our polished wheels.

That's exactly right, the original finish on these was not "polished", More like what used to be called a "Butler finish" which has a slight brushed appearance.

Our wheels are an example of polished aluminum, and there is no comparison
