I would wait a couple of weeks to see what else is comming. Both Trilogy, and Dennis have kits comming out soon.

Your timing is remarkable, how lucky can one get?

Kenny Brown is well established in building performance cars, and he has a number of MMs on the street with his "whole car" approach. I own one and it's truely a fine package. Vortex blower

Dennis Reinhart is quickly closing on completing his supercharger project, and he is also well established in the field and highly respected. Also a Vortex blower

Trilogy is offering a supercharger kit based on the Eaton roots type blower, but their background and expertise is not well known at the present time. This coming Saturday, June 28th, Trilogy is hosting an open house, and we will hear more about them and the kit.

Good Lord Louise, 10 months ago, we didn't have d**k available for this car. Now, the list seems endless. Blowers, gears, pulleys, chips, plugs, torque converters, whole trannys, posi units, sway bars, shocks, springs...and a K&N filter too! Everyday something new becomes available, and it just keeps getting better. And LM thinks there is no interest in this car! Is this the sleeper/secret of the century or what...

Not to go off topic here, but not really... Sammy's been keeping me pretty busy. ;) Just bringing something back to the group that's been missing since Slowpoke's addition to his family.

Do yourself a favor and check out all of the offerings. I don't know if Kenny Brown is doing the blower by itself, or only as part of the S package. All I can speak to is the Trilogy setup. As far as I know, its the only roots style blower adapted to the Marauder. It is an Eaton Supercharger. From what I understand the Roots style blower, which is belt driven, begins making torque right from the very start of acceleration, as opposed to the Vortec style blower that "winds" into its torque. I think someone like Lidio may be better at explaining it, but he is one that has probably installed hundreds of Vortecs on Mustangs over the last 13 years. His opinion is the Roots style Eaton is the best application for our heavier torque needing Marauders. I do know that for whatever reasons Kenny Brown said the Roots style wouldnt work on the Marauder, but using Motorsports parts and Ford engineering, the Trilogy setup works real nice. That is part of the time it has taken to perfect the Trilogy setup. When I had the car at the local Mercury Dealership (sold more Marauders than any dealer in Michigan), the Mechanics and Owner thought it was as close to OEM looking as any factory installed Blower they had seen...look up the pics yourself.

Sarge...remember when you drove your blown car the first time?! Grin from ear to ear......
I for one cant wait to see both supercharged cars side by side this week at Trilogy's open house! Like I told Sarge on the phone....I see a DUEL brewing!!!

Either way, whichever you choose, do your homework, find which is best for your driving style and wallet. I for one dont have 16,000 bucks for the Kenny Brown Marauder S....so I guess the Trilogy setup is more WIFE friendly!! But be careful, DO NOT DRIVE A BLOWN MARAUDER, UNLESS YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING ONE! CAUSE ONCE YOU DRIVE ONE, YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE IT!!

Good luck!

If you work it right, and have a good sales department, it is possible to finance the Marauder and a kit. I know one happy Kenny Brown Marauder S customer that financed over $52,000.00 at 0.0%! ( your finances have to be stronger than a garlic milkshake ) but it is possible!

Wasn't Allen Engineering also working on a superchaarger for the Marauder?
They already have one for the Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis

How much is the trilogy set up? I have a 02 lightning which comes with an eaton roots type blower and I am very happy with how it runs, loads of low end tourqe, the truck now has 40K miles on it and havent had one mechanical problem, i use the truck as my daily driver, it looks like i might want to lean twords the trilogy blower.

You explain it very well, Dave, thank you.

Sorry to disappoint you on this, but I'm not keen on racing this car right now, I need a few more hours behind the wheel.

I emailed Allen Engine in April and was told that there is no current plan for a Marauder supercharger. It seemed like it would be right up there alley based on their other kits.

Well I might go a totally differant route Twin Turbos Contacted JDM for some more info on they'er current project MM and they just might hook me up with some companies that might get me going on this but it well not be cheap somewhere in the $6,000 to $10,000 range but should have 500 to 650 RWHP Just imagine an 11 second sedan. Yikes.

I owned a 1989 Thunderbird SC. It had a factory Roots on a 3.8L V6. Max Torque 315 @2,500 RPM. Lots of fun and no problems.

I also owned a 1985 XR4TI. It had a factory turbo charger and lots of problems due to the inherent heat retention of a turbo. All the electrical, rubber and plastic parts under the hood were cooked @30K miles.

I took some steps to exhaust the heat but the damage had already been done. I would say a turbo cuts the life of under hood parts by 70%.

I had no heat or SC related problems with the Thunderbird.

Just my 2 cents for those looking at both options.

Wow - I drove almost the exact same cars - an '90? SC Cougar and a red XR4Ti. Of course they were both my father's cars, but I made them both fly. The Merkur literally, the Cougar figuratively. :)

Our Merkur had no problems and I think he had it for 75K or so. Given how I drove it it held up pretty well. ;-)

Well I have an 02 lightnig which I am sure most of you know comes with a roots type eaton supercharger and the thing is great, I have put 40K miles on the truck and not ever had one problem and it is a blast to drive, for a daily used car the roots type blower is the best way to go. Ford has already proven it with the T-bird and cougar SC,the 03 cobra, and the Lightning.

Hey....not to tease you or torment you...but I was able to "steal" the Trilogy car to go home while Lidio did the Eibach springs on my Marauder..... All I can say is Holy ****. I don't know if I will ever get used to that power, but I am prepared to try! I just can't get over the way that car launches, do a little burnout, and suddely, no one wants to run with me! I can't wait to get mine. Think long and hard folks......
