Hello all,I was wondering how much headroom those of you with moonroofs have.I have been looking at MM w/o moonroofs and it hasn't been an issue.I haven't been in one with, and I'm curious how much head clearance is lost with one.I'm 6'2" and the last thing I want to do is fly out to look at this one only to hit my big melon on the headliner.Thx everyone for your time. Also is there much of a change in the o/h instrumentation in the 04s with and w/o the moonroof?

I do not have a moonroof, but may be able to help some...

I'm 6'4" and I can position my seat to a comfortable driving position and have 6+" of headroom clearance - I don't think a moonroof would impact that much. Bear in mind, I've not sat in a moonroof equipped Marauder though.

As for the overhead console, it is cut off, I belive it has the compass and buttons, and two smaller lights up front but that's it, not all the storage, I'm sure someone can post pics.

I'm 6'4" and I have no problems with the moonroof on my '04. Even with the seatback in it's most upright position I've never hit my head. I'm not fast enough yet at the strip to be required to wear a helmet so I can't say I'd have enough clearance with one on but in normal street driving I can't recall ever hitting my head. The seats are pretty adjustable, besides front and back the seat bottom can be raised or lowered, tilted front and back in addition to the seat back adjustment.

The overhead console is obviously much shorter on the moonroof MM's. I think all you lose is the storage bin capability. Mine still has the compass display, the Homelink buttons (garage door opener) and the dome/map lights.

Mercman has driven mine and he is 6'7".

That is one big moo-moo head, and he didn't hit.

It depends on how you are proportioned. I'm 6'4", but all my height is in my torso. I couldn't drive a moonroof car. I usually bang my head on the overhead console when I get in my non-moonroof car (haven't gotten used to that yet). Typically, a moonroof will take out about an 1 1/2" of headroom. If your height is in your legs, you should be OK if you have plenty of clearance in a non-moonroof car.

^^^ I agree with JonW ^^^

I'm 6'4" and I can not get a good seated position in a moonroof'd MM. Mine had no MR and I was fine. I drove two with MR's and my hair kept rubbing the headliner... VERY annoying.

I say go find a local MM or CV with a MR, then test it out.

Im 6'2 and I remember when I went looking for the car at the dealer. He had a silver, a TDR and a black all with moonroofs and a silver w/o a moonroof. Im tall in the torso as well and the moonroof cars just felt a little tight to me where the roof curves toward the window on the left side. I still cleared it but maybe only by half an inch or so. I bought the car w/o the moonroof and have 1-2 inches to spare at least.

My girlfriend is 5'6" but she has "legs for miles" and she has to sit with the seat all the way back to get comfortable. Sorry, I just had too.

Jon, Wabasto, the Mgf that makes, and installs (or at least did) the moonroof for Ford, claimed the loss of 2". I'm 6'4 with a 32" inseam, so a tall sitter also. The MM's with moonroof I've been in were just fine, with lots of headroom; but that wasn't the case with my '93 T'bird. Couldn't wear a hat in that damned thing, except one of those awful Jacky Stewart things Barb insisted upon buying. I never liked the car but hated that stupid hat.
