That our cars are undated and TIMELESS!!!!! :bows:
All other models have annual facelifts and sometimes complete makeovers making the older cars obvious!! This not only makes new cars more attractive but also accelerates the depriciation of the older models!!:(
All 11,052 of our Marauders were basically the same and should remain unique through time......PRETTY COOL.....I think!!!
I don't ever plan on selling mine and unless I crash it or it gets stolen my daughter may be able to sell it in 20 or 30 years and make a few $$$'s??
Heck, I may even still be around and driving it???:geezer:

I agree 100% with ya Jack. I will NEVER SELL MINE and I believe it is destined to be a classic. I reached a major goal with mine since I bought off the showroom floor July 3, 2004 with my personal best et. I drive it every day and tonight the wife are going to Ruth Chris's Steakhouse to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. And what a better way to go. In style, lots of class and a Corvette/Mustang woop-a**ing full size, 11 second, 4-door sedan....absolutely gotta love it:D .

I have to agree with you guys, I think this car will go down in history and be as popular if not more so than the 94-96 impalas. I think even more so being there are less marauders on the road.

I enjoy watching guys in my rear view mirror looking at the Marauder bumper and shaking their heads. And I always get looks at the rims. Makes driving a lot of fun.

This car draws a huge amount of attention, especially around where I live. it seems like everyone has a caprice, impala, or CV and they all stare at my MM and some even have the nerve to try and test me....

I remember before I bought mine. Ive always had big cars and had a super clean 91 Town Car that was getting tired. I wanted a CV/GM and was looking at them quite seriously. The CV Sport caught my eye and then I came across the Marauder.....Local guy had it and we emailed back and forth. He wanted way too much for it as it had more than allowable miles and the paint wasnt great.
Then he brought it by and I was screwed, no way was I settling for a CV/GM. We went back and forth and then he said someone on eBay was buying it. I told him I had CASH IN HAND and I could meet him within an hour. A day later, I was driving the SlkMerc and lord was I smiling!
I too, will never sell this car. When it gets tired, I want to build another motor, possibly supercharge or a turbo set up. I drive it daily and although the mileage blows, I'll get another car to drive before I sell this one.
I still get lots of looks, the car is a great balance of beauty and balls!

This car is a kick! Pure joy to drive.
Not many seem to know what it is but those that do really react.
The other day a couple of kids in a hopped up Mustang really checked it out while I was driving. When they finally stopped looking it over they came up beside me and blipped their throttle a few times. I smiled and hit it and just walked away.
I'm keeping this car til it wears out and then I'll rebuild it.

I get the comments too, it's lots of fun to have a car that some people recognize and respect, and others are very surprised by!
Of course, when gas goes over $4/gallon this summer, that will probably be the end of the Marauder as a DD. Eh, if it just becomes the weekend/"fun" car, I guess that's good long-term with less mileage...

I think you are right in that since it was a short run and 03 and 04 are virtually identical it will just look better over time. If Im getting gas or near my car many times people will ask what it is and what year it is. They usually say theve never seen one before and then get this disappointed look when I tell them Mercury quit making them in 04. I dont see me selling this car for a long time.

Agreed. No one around here knows what it is, what it has from the factory. And as far as I'm concerned, me and this girl I know, her father has an MM, we are the only two around my town and surrounding towns with an MM to my knowledge. (Except Mary!) People love it too! And no, I will never sell this and hope to have it in the next 10 years.

Even after 4-5 years the Marauder still looks like you should be able to run down to the FLM dealer and buy one off the showroom floor. That's probably because the overall look of the Panther platform really hasn't changed in 10 years or so. The subtle changes year-to-year are basically in trim and are hard to spot unless you're up close.
Now if they did major changes in the Panther body lines but still kept the overall feel of the car consistent, like they did between 1997-1998, then you'd see the Marauder age a bit. Of course, seeing how Ford does it, they'll take the GM/CV name and put it on some FWD econobox, then the Marauder will truly become ageless like the old-school Impalas.

I read a story in todays paper that the panther platform is aging with 30 year old technology. Wouldn't trade mine for any new model available.:D

There has never been a CV or GM with the agressive stance or the overall "Wicked" appearance our Marauders have......That will be ageless for sure!!:bows:
The lack of OEM tires WILL be a BIG problem when BFG doesn't HAVE to make them anymore!!
No matter what......I believe the value of these cars will bottom out and begin to rise in 7-8 years......We'll see??:cheer:
