Hey Folks....
I'm VERY impressed with the wear of my Nitto 295's out back!!:bows:
They currently have 38K+ miles on them and though I don't do burnouts...THEY have spun hundreds of times during "Sporty" driving!!
To me they look like they still have more than 50% of the oridinal tread of 10.8 32nds of an inch!!
Makes you wonder about the BFG's.....Huh???:shake:

Now if only they made those tires in stock front and rear sizes, I would be all over that. I am not thrilled with the BFG's either. I have had balancing issues with more than just these BFG kdws, I had a few sets of Traction TA's on a different car that took a lot of weight to balance on near perfect wheels, and still had weird high speed vibrations that we could never get rid of, even using a Hunter 9700 road force machine w/ lug centric adapters to mount.

That's wierd. My orignal KDWS' are perfectly fine, even though the rears do not get that good of traction. I'm talking wear wise. I'm still debating whether to get the KDW 2's or some other brand for the rears.

I have had BFGs that were totally fine as well, it seems to be a quality control type issue. Some of the BFGs I have, both kdws and traction ta's, took very little weight, some took a very surprisingly large amount. Even when I swapped the tires that took a ton of weight onto other wheels that previously took almost no weight to balance with other same BFG tires, I ran into the same problems. One of my traction TAs was 45 thou out of round, running it loaded, on a Hunter Roadforce 9700 machine. This was brand new. I had to send it back to get a good one.

Funny thing....my OEM tires wore badly but ran very smooth!!!
The couple BFG sets after them had a harmonic type of vibration that came and went every 10 seconds or so at highway speeds!!??:mad2: We balanced, moved side to side and nothing corrected it....UNTIL the Nito 555's!!!:bows:

Jack, Are those just for widened rims, or do they have an application for standard width?

Joe,
They are on widened wheels but someone here ran a set on standard wheels and had no problems...Can't remember who it was??
Obviously it would be better on 9.5" wheels as the specs dictate!!

I'm running the same on the back as Jack and mine are also doing great with about 13K on the clock----..........and on the front OEM wheels--I'm running the Nittos 255's --and no problem either--same great wear--all still look new---

I'm going to run the Nitto P295s this summer, what PSI did you run in yours?
That is great mileage out of a set of high performance radials!

Joe,
I started out running 40 PSI......a carry over from the BFG's!! Problem was wheel spin so I dropped to 35 PSI and later down to the current 30 PSI......It still spins but not as bad and wear looks to be very uniform!!
I may drop to 28 PSI or so but don't want to compromise handling??:shake:
I still can't believe Ford stuck us with one brand....and a "SUB-STANDARD" one at that!!!!:shake: :argue: :mad2:
