Hi guys, there is a $29 pinion height gauge made by Ratech, I think p/n 1006, that Summit sells. It will gauge pinion height in an 8.8, with the addition of a dial caliper, only if the gear set has the pinion set height stamped on the top (it cautions in the instructions that some aftermarket gears won't have check height on them). I would imagine that the stock Ford gears must have the check height on them (NOT ford motorsports gears, which are richmonds or some other make, but I am talking about stock OEM ford gears only).
Thanks!!

Nope only thing I saw on the stock Ford gears when I pulled mine out last Wednesday was the 3:55 ratio, I measured with a dial indicator for pinion depth and a mircometer for the head of the pinion and that was on the stock Ford 3:55's before I put my 4:10's in....
