What is the model number for the air cleaner?Do they clean up like the K&N?Mine is going on two years and is looking nasty.

I'm pretty sure it'll clean up like a k&n (I used a k&n cleaning kit w/ mine). Those materials are supposed to last for at least +100k miles, typically. In the least you can take an air hose and blow from the inside out, then use a clean paint brush to brush off any excess debris on the outside.
*** on a side note: when reading the k&n cleaning kit's instructions it mentioned it not being necessary to clean the filter too frequently due as too much air flow is not desirable. The restrictive nature of a little dirt actually helps the performance.
... but that's just what the box said
now that I think about it, cleaning it w/ the air is probably pretty effective. The oil spray that comes w/ a cleaning kit is probably just to keep the thing from getting dry and crusty and degrade, which I'd probably do about every 15k

They could probably answer the brand/model question just as well

The tube is almost two years old and I knew I had a scratch on it and it`s turned into this.I have had the tube on and off a few times and I think that where it all started as I hear it don`t flex much.I don`t see it as a problem as much as a eyesore. http://home.comcast.net/~hack_goby/tube.jpg
