I've got a quick detailing question for you.

I use Mothers California Gold (Phase 1,2, and 3) on the exterior, and Zymol on the leather. What would you recommend I use to clean my interior door panels? Mine are getting a little dusty/dirty looking.

Normally I'd just use some Armour All but I'd like to avoid using any silicone based products near my Marauder. I've found silicone based stuff be very slick and too shiney.

Thanks!

Mequires Cockpit Shine. Buffs off to a nice matte finish.

+1 for the Meguires. I never let ArmourAll near any of my cars. It's not even fit to be used on the tires...

I would advise to never use silicone based products since they will slowly "leach" the plasticizers out of vinyl and ruin leather causing premature cracking and hardening!!!:shake:

They also collect and hold dust like crazy!!

Another example of marketing and sales of poor quality products...through advertising (brainwashing)!!

You are actually far better off using nothing!!

I agree the interior looks great when cleaned and no shiny stuff put on. This is the way the the cars were delivered. If FORD motor had wanted the inside to shine they would have made it that way.
I don't know why dealers seem to shine up used cars though

Sounds stupid, but I use the Old folks Butt wipes from the nursing home to clean my interior.

They have a cleaning agent as well as a few oils in them which give a nie luster.

Flame away on that one!

Do the old folks just give them to you when they are finished with them? Do you have to shake anything out of them before use?

You know, if you really think about this suggestion, (and the visual I'm gettin' is NOT pretty - thanks Zack!), it DOES make a lot of sense.
The whole (hole?) cleaning/oils thing is a close cross application.
Do you think baby wipes would do the same and which would have the least offensive scent? I can't wait to see the poll on this one!

Thanks for the suggestions.
I would have chimed in earlier, but I think the thread covered itself. Although I now worry about Zack, and exactly *HOW* he discovered that worked well. Plus, what the heck else has he done...

I mainly use the butt wipes for oil and grease removal on my hands.

Just happened to clean the interior with them one day and they do work really well.

I once had a girlfriend that used to wipe down the interior of her Cavalier with Baby oil.....

I can't be around that stuff anymore. It does things to me that I can't describe here....:o

I like using Vinylex (http://www.lexol.com/vinindex.html) on any plastic & vinyl. Good for weatherstripping & seals too.
