Greetings to all the Marauder asylum inmates,
I've been lurking for quite a while and enjoying the great information on this site--thanks to each of you! I was quietly looking for a Marauder all over the U.S. for quite some time and ended up buying Paul's ("Directedby") '04 Marauder a few weeks ago. Fortunately, we live just over the hill from each other so the logistics were simple. Brian kindly ran OASIS for me and the rest is history. The car is pristine and Paul helped make the entire transaction a terrific experience. I couldn't have asked for a better person from whom to buy my Marauder. First class all the way.
So far, I'm loving this car but, honestly, I sometimes still don't know quite what to make of it. I love it, my wife hated it instantly :D--BINGO--:D we have a winner--it's PERFECT! But, I can't tell you why I admire this car. It's big, plenty fast, cool but hot, loud yet reserved, sleek but massive, ostentatious while stealthy,... it's just a mix of everything in one big ball of killer black sheet metal. I had a black '96 Impala SS some years ago, but the Marauder is a much more attractive car inside and out (in my humble opinion). Flame suit is on for those that love the Impala. I like the Impala too, but the Marauder just synchs with me for some unknown reason.
I decided to keep the Marauder in No. Texas for a while and use it for occasional business trips. Added my scanner and ham radio gear and now I'm ready to hit the road. What an enjoyable drive from SoCal to Dallas! And, amazingly, I got 23MPG at 70MPH and 20MPG at 85MPH. That's with the 4.10 gears! I was impressed. And, one just has to love the 80MPH speed limit in West Texas! :banana2:
In the weeks ahead, I plan on driving south to Houston and visit Wes Chain to talk shop and I look forward to meeting more of you in the near future.
OK, sorry for consuming so much bandwidth--back to your regularly scheduled program,... just wanted to check in and say hello.
All the best,
John
