Greetings to all the Marauder asylum inmates,

I've been lurking for quite a while and enjoying the great information on this site--thanks to each of you! I was quietly looking for a Marauder all over the U.S. for quite some time and ended up buying Paul's ("Directedby") '04 Marauder a few weeks ago. Fortunately, we live just over the hill from each other so the logistics were simple. Brian kindly ran OASIS for me and the rest is history. The car is pristine and Paul helped make the entire transaction a terrific experience. I couldn't have asked for a better person from whom to buy my Marauder. First class all the way.

So far, I'm loving this car but, honestly, I sometimes still don't know quite what to make of it. I love it, my wife hated it instantly :D--BINGO--:D we have a winner--it's PERFECT! But, I can't tell you why I admire this car. It's big, plenty fast, cool but hot, loud yet reserved, sleek but massive, ostentatious while stealthy,... it's just a mix of everything in one big ball of killer black sheet metal. I had a black '96 Impala SS some years ago, but the Marauder is a much more attractive car inside and out (in my humble opinion). Flame suit is on for those that love the Impala. I like the Impala too, but the Marauder just synchs with me for some unknown reason.

I decided to keep the Marauder in No. Texas for a while and use it for occasional business trips. Added my scanner and ham radio gear and now I'm ready to hit the road. What an enjoyable drive from SoCal to Dallas! And, amazingly, I got 23MPG at 70MPH and 20MPG at 85MPH. That's with the 4.10 gears! I was impressed. And, one just has to love the 80MPH speed limit in West Texas! :banana2:

In the weeks ahead, I plan on driving south to Houston and visit Wes Chain to talk shop and I look forward to meeting more of you in the near future.

OK, sorry for consuming so much bandwidth--back to your regularly scheduled program,... just wanted to check in and say hello.

All the best,

John

Welcome Aboard!
Thanks for keeping that car "in the family". It's nice to see a great car go to a good home. Maybe someone should set up an MM adoption committee! Enjoy the site. There's a ton of info in them archives, but make sure you get to bed on time . . . you'll want to get up at a reasonable time so you can go look at it tomorrow!

Best of luck with your new ride, here's to many happy smiles.

Congrats on getting your Marauder and your first post out in the open. That feeling that you get with the MM is fondly known as "The Grin". :D

Congratulations on your new purchase John. Your gonna love it. Oh and by the way my wife hates mine also. Probably cause I keep finding things to add to it. Oh well, such is life. Can't please everyone.

Thanks for all the kind and welcoming words, gents. Would love to drop in on a gathering and meet some of you in person when I'm in No Dallas and in the Austin/Houston areas.

Regarding the badgeless grill and rear deck, that was something I planned to do regardless of which car I purchased. That Paul had already done it was a nice plus.

Thanks again, and hope to see many of you soon!

All the best,

John

Wow, that is my car - I mean was my car....

Glad you are enjoying it and that it went to a good home.

I loved that car....

Learned so much from this site - will drop by from time to time, but I found a great site and great folks for my new ride over at jk-forum.com

There is always a time to move on...

So I went from the race track to the mud and rocks...

Here's my new toy for the next three years...

Anyway, enjoy the car, John - and bye for now, all.
