Yes, I have one and have been offered lots of money for it. Several "experts" on here will tell you there is no such thing but they are not much of an expert...

Not exactly now. No one has said yours isn't real, just that before yours no model that was made from the stat to be a Marauder has shown up.
Production on that must have been extremely limited, or at least advertised as well as the Marauder itself was.
To a model collector it's worth a small fortune

I collect models and have been since I was 10. I've yet to find a Marauder model for me to purchase.
P.S.-Hey Ryan, how's CVN? I haven't been on in a long time....

I have the ability to reproduce model car bodies in poly-resin and I'd love to get my hands on one of those. I could cast the body and wheels, and any other Marauder specific parts and then find a donor kit. I'm sure we could Contact Motormax and if we had enough support, get another run. In fact, I'll take charge of that bus.

If you do that, I bet you can sell 500 easy, probably more.

sounds good.
Maybe they still have tooling/molds of specific Marauder parts

I just sent an email to Motor Max's sales dept. For those who are unfamiliar with how most Model Car companies work, I'll fill you in. To bring back a discontinued or limited production subject, you need a large number of units comitment upfront. This could be as high as 10000 units or as little as 1000. I'll post up as soon as I hear back from Motor Max.

The only problem with the resin bodies is the time involved. It takes roughly 2-3 hours to prepare the body for casting, then casting takes several hours. The molds are only good for 25-30 bodies and then new ones have to be made. Its a last option if I don't hear back from Motor Max. But be prepared for a higher cost and more work for the resin copies.

I wonder If that is Dave's (Hitchiker) car. I remember he purchased a black X100 off of e-bay and had a 2004 Black MM.

I believe it is, BJ. Far too many coincidences on this one. Sale info says " The car is one of several cars from an Estate of a true Ford / Mercury Enthusiast". Car has plates from California. '69 Mercury Marauder X-100 in the background. First 11 digits of the VIN line up with what he registered on the ORG site (last six listed as 000000.)

Maybe someone can verify the plate.
I see he opted to put in a full size spare instead of the donut

Definately Hitchiker's car. I looked up all his post and he bought it in March 04 picked it up April 04, also the tag "2004MM" was his he mentioned it in a post. Also it looks like the model is another on of those custom jobs on E-Bay, he made a post about it and an X-100 model he bought. RIP

No, did not get the model with the car. Picked it up at a large car show where a guy was selling a bunch of stuff for a Mercury dealership owner.

The typical same old stuff. Nothing really changed. When I get a 'Rauder, I'll be spending more time here.

I got a positive reply this morning. I may need to get with a vendor on these, because 6000 units at 12-15 bucks each is way out of my playing field. Here's the email-
This is interesting, as I handled the Motorworks program, and I don't remember putting this car into the mix.
Further, we only had the Crown Vic Body but not the Marauder.
I had actually thought about rebadging the CV into a Marauder, but there were not enough interest to cover the cost.
10,000 pcs is enough for us to bring the Marauder into the market. If you can consume 6,000 pcs, we should be able to bring this out.
The cost for 6,000 pcs will be about $12-$15 each depending on the tooling investment to make the CV a Marauder. It's very well possible as the sheet metal is the same, only the wheels and the engine, exhaust are different.
Can you send me some Marauder pictures and I can start talking to the factory?
By the way, where are you going to sell 5-6,000 pcs of this car?
Regards
Maurice Chan

You need a marketing wizard for this one.

Well, isn't there like 3,000 members on this site? If everyone bought just 2... I know, you can't count on everyone buying even one. Wishful thinking.
For 15-16 bucks, I'd buy one in every color. Can we make a few of them Crown Vic Sports? All that would be required is different wheels and go back to CV front bumper.

There are only about 250 active members .... so we'd all have to buy 24 of them. That's a big stretch. :o

I asked him about other colors in my last email and he didn't refer back to my question in the last email. He simply stated he would send the pics and info I sent him off to the factory and he would keep me updated. Painting these models would not be difficult. I also need to ask him what scale, it was never mentioned in my previous emails. So, I'll be starting a new thread and hopefully it will be a sticky so I can get an accurate number.
