View Full Version : Zack & Zack Dead Pedals, Any Interest?
Hey everyone, Ive been in the process of having a dead pedal bracket made up and am almost happy with the prototypes.
Funny thng is, I just read BigCars4Ever's thread about his dead pedal. I know, its been up for a year and I just read it. I see there is a lot of interest in his pedal as well as many orders.
In light of this, I now wonder if my pedal will sell and am gauging interest.
FYI: It is an exact duplicate of the Kenny Brown Design: Take the kick panel off, mount the bracket to existing holes and use the provided template to drill the holes in the kick panel. Sleek, easy to install and very sturdy.
Although pricing is not hammered down yet, it will be in the 50-75 dollar range at this point.
Maybe someone can post up a picture of their KB dead pedal here so members can see what im talking about.
Thanks as always.

I already have made a previous commitment to BC4E, therefore I'm sticking with it. Sorry Zack, next time around!

I need a K/B style one for my Daughter's CV LX Sport. The price sounds right - details and pics of the prototype or finished product - when you're ready - please!

This is what my Dead Pedal will look like installed. This is the prototype, but pretty much identical to the Kenny Brown design.

That looks like the Mustang dead pedal I installed. There are 2 of them on eBay for $5.00 + shipping.

^^^^^Those on E-Bay are the wrong one.
They are pedals for 79-93 Mustangs and I use the pedal for 99-up Mustangs.
Different bolt spacing and slightly different foot angle.

But you have to drill through your plastic anyway, why not get it all done in one shot? I'm sure it can be bent too, to compensate for the foot angle...

Isn't that copywrite infringement, or something? Maybe patent abuse?

Whats wrong with furnishing a pedal that needs no modification?

The pedal is a Ford part and the bracket is a little different.

FYI for you all. I had a KB dead pedal, and I couldn't engage the emergency brake all the way. Took it out and got one from BC4E. This one allows the emerg. brake pedal to go all the way down. BC4E's you also don't have to make holes in the kick panel.:D Good luck with your research and development.

Ive had KB dead pedals in 3 Marauders and the E-Brake engages completely in all of them.
Wanna sell your old pedal?

Wanna sell your old pedal? What is your offer? I know I am not the only one who had the EBrake issue. It was installed correctly by myself. It can only go in the two holes for the hood release. Anyways. not an issue anymore.........

Zack, No hard feelings here! I think it's good to have choices. Besides I'm not in business, this is more of a favor for the community and a chance to keep my welding well practiced!

Nothing.
Mustang Pedal = $5.00
Yours = $50.00-$75.00
I'd vouch for the $5.00 one and the extra 10 minutes of labor...That's just me, though. Good luck!

Yes but a bracket that is behind the kick panel needs to be fabricated. The pedal NEEDS something to bolt to.

When the E-Brake is adjusted properly, there is no issue.

I'll take pics of my Mustang dead pedal installation. Had to cut the kickpanel but didn't have to fab any new bracket. I think mine was a total of:
$5.00 - pedal
$3.00 - shipping
$1.00 - spray paint (black)
and about 1 hour to install it.
$50 - $70 sounds kind of high to me........

Im curious as to how you accomplished this.
Keep in mind Kennny Brown charged $70ish for his pedal.
The pedal alone from Ford is $24. On top of that is the Custom made bracket whick has to be sheared, bennt in 2 spots, 2 holes drilled and 2 nuts welded.
You and everyone else know Im not in the business of ripping people off.
And one more thing, the pedal you aquired for $5.00 is discontinued from Ford.
