Lidio installed the Eibach springs on my Marauder today, what a difference. Difference in BOTH look and handling. On the look side, the lowered stance and filled up wheel wells adds a lot to the look. As for handling, its a lot stiffer and tight. I was concerned about bottoming out on bumbs and such. Not a problem I'm glad to report. We tried speedbumps and didn't have a problem. Windy country two lane blacktop felt REAL good! Eliminated body roll and let me handle the same road I drive daily a lot faster and more aggressively than with the stock springs. The rear ride height was adjusted by moving the ride height sensor.
I took measurements before and after. Measurements were taken from the bottom lip of the fender wheel well, down to the floor, using the center cap of the rim as a point of reference.
Before:
left front - 28 1/2 inches / right front - 28 1/2 inches
left rear - 29 1/2 inches / right rear - 29 1/2 inches
After:
left front - 27 1/4 inches / right front - 27 1/4 inches
left rear - 28 inches / right rear - 28 inches
Basically the kit dropped the front end by appx 1 1/4 inches, I don't think they will settle any more. I think the rear end needs to go up 1/4 in to keep the 1 inch difference that gives you the "stance" or "rake" of the car. Count on appx 2 hours at a shop to do the swap and adjustment. One of those No Brainer modifications that gives you a tangible result, a real return on a small investment
Thanks for the report...
Now if we can just get these AND the sway bar....I'm ready for both....Dennis?

Oooh... this sounds really good. Where did you buy the springs from? Did you just get them from the shop that did the work? Can you ball-park a price for us? I'm very interested.

Another member posted a few weeks back that Eibach was making a spring kit for our car. I called them and actually got to talk to an engineer that worked on designing the kit. We can not buy direct from them, but have to buy from a retailer. Suggested retail was given as $229 for the kit. I was lucky enough to know the manager of a tire store that deals with Eibach, and was nice enough to give it to me for $140. I posted on here about him extending that offer to our members, but was not in a position to ship them out. Labor should run you about 1 1/2 to 2 hours worth. Check Eibach.com and look for a local dealer. If you live near Detroit, you can get them for $140 from the guy I know..
Like I said....very nice and worthwhile mod....

MI: Did they re-align you car? Is it necessary to do so?

Excellent. Thanks MI2QWK4U!
The price is right in my ball park and would fit well with my DR rear sway bar. I'm all about the handling mods! :burnout:
The eibach.com web site lists the following:
Product Front Rear Part Number
PRO-KIT 1.4 in 1.2 in 3596.120
Does that mean they have rear springs as well if you wanted to remove the air suspension? I'd personally prefer to leave the air suspension in the rear and just swap out the front springs.

I'd like to see some pix. Is the rear lowered using new springs or was the air suspension lowered?

I hope to pick up mine at Trilogy tomorrow. Do you think you could still get a 255/40/18 tire to do full turns and travel without rubbing, like you can before the lower springs??

Does this upset the geometry of the original settings on the car, ie: toe in/toe out, is there any nose dive during hard braking, is it progressive rate springs ??? Thanks.

are you putting more tension on the sway bar now by lowering the front end? any adjustments needed to sway bar in front?

Once more....its a 2 spring kit, fronts only. You leave the rear TOTALLY stock, just adjust the ride height sensor. Yes, my car will need an allignment. No nose dive, ride is MUCH stiffer. I am not planning on touching the sway bars or bushings now. They are progressive rate.

Did you guys see the pics Hack posted in the gallery of my Marauder with the Eibach springs on it? He took a couple pics at a cruise-in we went to a couple weeks ago. As you can see, the Difference is dramatic visually, not to mention the handling improvments.

Guys,
you might also consider Summit or Jeggs. They can get anything with a part number and usually have about the lowest prices.

True. But not to dis' the big parts distributors, but I'm willing to pay an extra $10 or so to support one of this fine site's sponsors.

They^^^don't have them...right now no one does.
Best price I found is here www.wholesalehyperformance.com
$132.30 + shipping.
There are none available until Eibach gets the boat in from Germany with the next 95 sets, 1st week of September.

If you have not done it...get the sway bar from Dennis....that thing is a HUGE difference in handing....I did nothing but the sway and the car has almost zero roll...unless I really turn too abrubt....
