Good Friend WON Pinks All Out!!!!!

I nearly ***** myslef when I got the call a few months ago. I was scheduled to go to Pinks All Out at Moroso with my friends from my muffler shop since they were sponsoring 2 cars. Additionally, a good friend from work would be running as well.

I missed it. Family stuff. So, I get this call on Monday and my friend, Darlene... she's beside herself. Freakin' just won Pinks All Out!

So, I been quiet about it, but now it airs May 9 at 9PM on SPEED. Again on the 10th at 9AM.

She's driving the red El Camino. I'm real proud of her and wanted to share.

Some of the SSM guys have seen this car run and probly never knew it.

That's awesome! I'll definitely watch that one.

That show is opening up grassroots drag racing to the public for sure - lot's of folks making it on TV who never would otherwise.

We'll have somewhere around 4-5 panthers at MIR for the PINKS All-Out taping in Maryland on June 8-9, maybe we'll get a Marauder on TV too!

They don't run time. You loose the race, usually you lose your ride. But with the shoot-out they start with 16 cars and each driver puts up a grand, until they are down to two for the final. A friend of mine from work was on the shoot-out from Dallas last year. He made to the semi and then blew it. He was running a 10 second Buick Grand National.

They select a group of times - they know what they are usually, and you'll know from your first qualifying run. We're curious what time slot they picked the 16 cars from.

She's a mid-10 runner, I believe.

They always pick the 9 and 10 second club. It would be a first to see a class of 16 in the 12 second range. :banana2:

I cancelled Speed months ago. The race with Darlene will be on the web soon. Here is last year, also with a woman taking the crown. Edited by GNX fan.
