Hi everyone!
I will be transferring from Texas to Great Lakes in 3 weeks. I am looking forward to seeing all the MM's in the area! I will be bringing my '03 300A with me so hopefully we will have a chance to meet soon.
A few months ago I heard I-294 was getting a lane expansion from 5-7 lanes....or something ridiculous like that. I'm just curious what the status is on the construction? I plan to make frequent trips from Kenosha to Indy on the weekends and I'm trying to plan ahead. I lived there 10 years ago and 80/94 was a huge bottleneck also. Has it improved or is it still a mess?
Thanks!
Brian
ps...does anyone know if the Nostalgia McDonald's in Gurnee Mills still hosts weekly car shows?
The roads in question are pretty smooth sailing nowadays.
Although construction is ongoing, whoever thought out this project had the driver in mind.
Look forward to adding you to the Chicago contingent.

I made the trip from Chicago to Indy last weekend. The traffic was moving along quite nicely. Of course that was on a Sat. so your results may vary

Just don't come down to #8 on the national traffic nightmare list, WILL COUNTY. The roads here are PURE HELL.

Ha! Actually I asked for it. It's as close to "home" as I can get without going on recruiting duty. Don't worry, I know what I'm in for. I was stationed here in '96-'98 plus I went through boot camp and A school in '89...so nothing new.

'Lifer! Give me a rundown, won't you?
Sometimes I regret having "got out" when I did... but not often ;)
Teasing, man... what are you doing there?

I just spent the last 3 years in an out-of-rate assignment as a Naval Leadership Facilitator. My real rate is Hospital Corpsman so I'm going to the Naval Hospital in GL. I've spent most of my career on the green side at Camp Lejeune though...so hospitals are always a test for me. When were you in?

I've been out for a loooooong time, discharged from active duty (5 years) in 1989, reserves (2 years) in 1991.
Ahhhh, but the memories of Great Lakes!
