Hi -
My stepdad bought a stocker 03A and wants to reprogram for better shifts, etc. (I'll talk him into other mods as we go).
Wasn't there a version of the xcal that just held 2 programs and allowed you to load them without being able to mess with other parameters? (i.e. develop program in ProRacer, load to tuner, load to PCM) I thought there was a base model before the xcal2. Is it no longer supported?
I'm sure he has the $ for the xcal2, but just seeing if it's necessary to buy it when he really just needs a base unit to upload the tunes we will make for him.
Thanks

The X-Cal 2 can hold up to 3 tunes. I bought mine from Dennis Reinhart and he loaded a 3.55 and 4.10 tune. The tuner allows you to make slight changes with the hand held tuner or you can download SCT's Extreme Tune software program to make changes from your computer. I think the X-Cal 2 would work just fine for your step-fathers MM. Just my .02.

I thought the Xcal was still being sold, I could be mistaken though. Talk to Dennis or Lidio I'm sure they'll get you an answer.

Yes, I know this. I have an xcal2. I am seeing if there is one available for half the cost (around $200 IIRC) that would work.

I'll have to poke around a bit. I may just need the unit itself, as we already have done the work on the tune. We have it pretty much ready to go - just need the unit to load it.
