Is that installed ?
if not they are taking you to the cleaners. When I bought my P71 front shocks over the counter they were the cheapest as compared to stock for MGM with and w/o handling package.

TOOOO MUCH
check another dealer, try both FORD and LINCOLN MERCURY parts depts.
I have a friend in LINCOLN MERCURY parts dept and it cost me about $60 bucks for the front only. Granted it was 10% over cost, but even at suggested list it should not add up to $300 for front and rear

I think Bilstein makes a set for the 99s I like Bilstein and Tokico.. Back when I had my 97' I bought monroe police package shocks, and they were way too soft. Plan on spending 150-200 for just the shocks.

I have seen the bilsteins at Jegs for 320 for 4 of them. I would much rather spend 150-200. I will give a few other dealers a call.
Thanks,
Oh ya, the stock shocks will be Tokico, right?

At one dealer here in Omaha, Factory shocks 40 piece for the fronts and 60 piece for the rears. depending on the dealer they varied in price by as much as 25 bucks a shock. The lower priced dealer assured my they only had one listing for my application and that they were for the p-71 specifically.

Just do a quick online search, shipping is usually free or cheap. Marauder Shocks are Tokico, I thought crown vics were simply Ford MoCo.

My dad has Bilsteins on his 01 GM, and loves them (actually he tried Monroes first and hated them so much he changed them to the Bilsteins after only 10K miles). I have driven it a lot too, and it is a tremendous improvement over stock. In my opinion Bilstein is the only way to go. I just hope they come out with some for the MM before mine are shot.

...I put Tokico on the front of my '93 Grand Marquis (different application) and was surprised how soft they were. If Koni has an appl. they would be very good to try.

Just had new shocks put on my 95 GM HPP daily driver. After fussing around with some others trying to make sure the replacement shocks were compatible with the HPP and air suspension, I went with the Ford OEM parts listed for it. They were dealer phone quoted to me at about $41 per and $36 per for Rear and Front respectively. My install shop charged a little more but the 4 new OEM shocks were about $164 plus install. The new ones felt good on the drive home. None of the original ones had failed but one front and one rear were fairly weak. After getting 143k+ out of the old ones I was ok with the replacement OEM's.

Got the front's for $34/piece from Ashly Ford in Omaha. Installed them last night. It has made a huge differance. I got them to price match a price I found form a RI dealership that has a website.
Thanks for the advice. Now I need tires.
