They look the same as MOOG cargo coils (rear variable rate springs) except almost double in price. I replaced the rear springs in my MGM with MOOG about 2 years ago I think I paid about $80 or so. The MOOG springs come with the instructions to disable the rear air suspension keeping the light off on dash. What I like about them is that they picked up the rear of the car a little for a nice stance, and did not drop to bump stops when trunk loaded or rear seat having three people.

I do too but I have heard tales of the RAS having a short life and
being very expensive to repair. I was curious about this as a viable
alternative if mine every goes to that great parts yard in the sky.

My concern would be if it would affect handling and/or ride.

Obviously if our front spring rates are somewhat stiffer than a GM
then it would seem that our rear suspension would differ in stiffness
too.
