I wonder if it is for a manual because they are suppose to have forged internals.

Why swap at all? Just rebuild the stock engine with forged internals and boost the hell out of it. More power than either of those, proabably less money.

No, the stick Machs only had a forged crank, the pistons and rods are the same as ours

add 2 k for a new hood and about 2 k labor converting it to fit

Naw....I can find an auto body shop around here to do a hood for a lot cheaper than that. As for the conversion though....lol

LOL. You actually think I'm doing this swap? I just posted it since how insane the price is for that engine setup. As for the hood, if you don't believe me, I'll give you a phone number to a guy here in my town that restores all classic cars, not to mention he does body work for 5 Ford dealers around here. I already got quoted for a hood like gdmJoe and it would only cost me $500. I'm not talking about an entire hood like you got for Todd, there is no need if he can make me a real working cowl out of the existing hood.
