And I cannot get it off. Worst yet...the sides are smooth. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can get this $%^ thing off?

what does the lug nut look like? Allen head?

It is the smooth jacketed type witht he key portion on top. That is the portion that has broken off. What I have now is the lug in the middle of the rest of the lug nut. The lock was hollow.
Could you post pictures of the wheel.

get with one of the tire changing places... usually have a special set of sockets to grab even smooth lugnut's.. and get them off..hope this help's...Jim

they sell locking lug nut removers..i have some myself at work..always get cars that have them but have lost the key...you just tap them on with a hammer and use breaker bar to break them loose very simple once u have tools...

NTB can do it. I am sure almost ANY tire shop can. Shouldn't be more than $20...

Go with Gorilla locking nuts.
Shouldn't have any problems.

+1 on the Gorilla's, should cost less than 40 bucks for a set of 20.... yes, that's right 20.... 5 for each wheel.

If you want to try it yourself use a socket that is close in size, jam it on, then use a ratchet to turn it off.

So where do we find Gorilla's? NAPA, Checker, AutoZone??? I don't like my local AutoZone to much.
