If you really want to change the sound of your Marauder...pick a muffler that you like the sound of...then at the same time...get the Megs resonator delete tips. You won't be dissapointed.
I have Flowmaster 40 Originals, with Megs resonator delete tips. Thats it.
The sound is awesome for being a minimal change from stock.
People who drive behind me pull up and say the car sounds like a beast.

Do a search, many of us have Flow's and Magna's on our cars. What it all comes down too though, is personal preference on the brand. All of the older guys say the Flowmaster's are "too loud" and "droney." :P

+1.
First, I added the Flowmaster Delta Flow in Stainless Steel. Then, one month later, I added the Megs delete tips.
Less than an oil change later (3k miles) I went back to stock mufflers/ tips.
I guess that I was so used to having my car quiet that I couldn't get used to it loud. Now, they are both for sale.
Lidio proved that you can make great numbers with the stock exhaust anyway.

I think that Borla exhaust gives it a better pitch to it but don't forget to add the deleted tips, many other MM owner have seen my car and agree with me.

Herein lies the problem...
When the stock exhaust needs to be replaced, it costs over $1000
to replace it and it has to be ordered.
We can all think of lots of things to do with $1000 for a replacement exhaust.
When it comes time to do mine, I will be doing a full Kooks exhaust
with an "H" pipe, Magnaflows and 4" Megs tips.

I have this exhaust with the Magnaflow spun metallic catalytic converters. The noise generally doesn't bother me, but is too much when talking on the cell phone. The car is generally not too loud, but has a "roar" at about 2500 rpm. I wish I could quiet it down a little. Any ideas? Would straight through mufflers and/or extending the tips move the noise from the inside to the outside?!

+1 here, they are relatively quiet at idle but turn heads at WOT. Very little drone if any. Then again....that was what "I" was looking for.

How loud or quiet your car is with aftermarket mufflers depends on what you have for your exhaust system. Flowmaster 40's on the stock system are not too loud but on larger system, the 40's will be a lot louder. I had a local shop install two 2.5" MagnaFlow cats, X-Pipe and Flowmaster 40 Delta Flow mufflers. It was way too loud for me. I swapped out the Flowmaster for MagnaFlows mufflers and that helped alot.

I watched a TV show last weekend where that guy Tracey, from the show Trucks / ESPN2, toured the new Cherry-Bomb factory... In addition to the old school "cherry bombs", they also produce new high performance mufflers. They seemed like a nice high-tech, high-quality product. They supposedly out flow the Flowmasters ... Has anyone had any experience with these new Cherry-Bomb high flow mufflers?
I have always been a Flowmaster guy and I plan on doing the 2 chamber 40 series with my new SS works headers and complete 2-1/2 system but it never hurts to know your options...

I saw that too, and I can't believe there is that much difference between the two. When you see a Flowmaster cut-away you would think there would be little to interupt the flow

I used to have a couple rusted out mufflers on my 5.0L Mustang Cobra and they sounded great. I set off car alarms in parkades constantly. Too loud though and I changed them over to stock again.

My old '95 CV with 2 Dynomax converters, 2 1/4 piping, no mufflers and Marauder non resonated tips I could do that too. One time I was in 1st and stomped on it and it got a few cars on the level above!

My '85 GT has 3" Flowmaster Outlaw Series Race mufflers and complete exhaust with high-flow cats... It's pretty ridiculous but sounds great. There is definitely no stealthiness on my end of things.
