For those that are already on nitrous, can someone verify that the Zex #82023 system and the #82026 system are the same, with the only difference being that the 82026 has longer hoses?

I think I have read that in some earlier posts, but Zex isn't open today to confirm. I can't find anything on their site that says, and I wouldn't want be be caught with a short hose.

Thanks guys!

Also, I am not finding either of those part numbers on Zex's site, or a quick Google Search.

KillJoyDuh! I can't believe I did that. The part numbers are 82023, and 82026. Sorry I sent you on a wild goose chase. :mad2:

Maybe now my question will make more sense.

I have corrected my orginal post. Thanks KillJoy for bringing that to my attention.

arent those the same numbers in the original post? I am confused! They are now, because I edited my first post. Don't feel bad, I'm confused too. I first posted 23023 and 23026, instead of 82023 and 82026.
Now I'm fixing myself a drink.

I see, I was lost there for a min. Sorry. Think I am losing it. Finished changing my 7 month olds diaper right before I saw the post. Think I was still a little messed up from the fumes.

My order has been placed.

Thanks superford3 for your assistance. I'll be getting a 125 shot with a window switch, polished bottle with pressure switch and a Billet bracket, and I just couldn't pass up the machine gun LED purge valve kit.

I hope to get the install within the next week or so, and will post some dyno results.

I bought my ZEX kit under the group buy from Wes Chain. The kit was made specifically for the Marauder and fit tested I believe. The Part Number on my instruction booklet is #802026 LS1/LS6.

The kit fits perfect.

Sorry I couldn't answer sooner, been out of town.

I'm running a 100 shot and cannot keep traction with KDWS or KDW2 Tires. You will have to get larger drag radials and widened rims or it won't be any fun. I'm also using a 3500 stall speed converter. Don't forget to change your plugs to a copper or iridium version and have your timing retarded. An NHRA/IHRA approved helmet and fire jacket will also be needed and prolly a drive shaft loop. When you hook up your tires you will be in the low 13's.

Hope this will help you in the use and understanding of your power adder.

You are now informed of these aspects.

PatOh boy! Just wait until mama finds out she'll have to start wearing a helmet.

Yea, I have the same kit as Pat has, it's not installed though, just sitting in my room waiting for me to tamper with it. But Pat, that's good to know about the tires issue, will be looking into widened rims before I bought my new tires and wasted money.

I know it's a bit late since you already ordered....but the 82026 is the right application for the Marauder. This IS the longer line kit for the LS1, the other will be too short. Not sure why the other fellow said the 023 was too long. :dunno:

Routed the line differently??

The route my line takes is from the bottle, which is mounted on the little shelf under the fuel kill switch, facing forward, through the bottom of the front shelf, be very careful there's a fuel tank there, down beside the fuel tank through the frame (lots of unused lightening holes) exit's out the frame in front of the firewall and up to a small shelf that my son built from TMF's (toomanyfords) plans and connects to the Zex computer box. Not a foot to spare.

I have enjoyed my Zex, although I don't use it on the street, too small a city, not enough room plus too many LEO's. But it's fun on the strip. I am still experimenting on application of the nitros using my street tires.
Finances preclude DR's and widened rims at this time.

Placement of the arm switch should be carefully considered. This switch needs to be on and left on when nitrous use is anticipated. The nitrous "on" signal in the ZEX computer is activated when the throttle is more than 85% engaged. So using the arm switch when launching is distracting if not placed on the steering wheel in some fashion. Prolley a temp location while racing and then tucked away when not in use.

If you recall the street racing scene in the movie "too fast too furious" the hero first clicked on his nitrous arm switch and as the race progressed he pressed a button on the steering wheel to "fire" the system.

The Zex is not like that. It uses just one switch, Arm, and the WOT signal is the "second" switch. Not as much flexability. I'm sure there is switchology design and components to fix this seeming limitation.

I don't know of a Traction Control window switch. I sometimes leave my traction control on for a nitrous run but that's really not the way to go.

Thanks for all the help guys. I was able to correct my order before it got shipped out. Zex suggested the 82026 kit because the lines are 2' longer, but unfortunately I may have to wait a couple weeks, since that kit is on back order.

Anticipation or being enthusiastic, is an emotion involving pleasure (and sometimes anxiety) in considering some expected or longed-for good event, or irritation at having to wait.

Crouse, do you live near Lake Woe-be-gone? You write like Garrison Keillor talks in his Prairie Home Companion series. Just kidding.

Even the Zex site shows the 82023 being the kit for our cars, but when you call them, they say I should go with the 82026 for the Marauder due to the longer lines. Anyhow, it's the same system, and I'm glad to hear the you are making it work on street tires.

Thanks for helping out. Hopefully, I'll have some kills to tell you about, when I get hooked up on the juice.

did you buy the zex window switch ? if so start out with the settings at 3,000 rpm to 5,900 ,i have it shut off right before it shifts so the tranny will last a little longer ,once you get used to it try setting it at 2,600

I did buy the window switch, and I'll consider your settings.

I have a local Mustang performance icon doing my install, and will probably rely on his expertise. This guy does amazing stuff with the Mustangs. Hopefully, he will do some amazing stuff for me. His wife just purchased a Silver Birch Marauder. . . . . so. . . . we'll see how he sets me up.

I think he has a new interest in Marauders.

Aha, I was confused, it's a switch that controls a "window" of RPM settings, not the drivers glass window that goes up and down.

That sounds like something I can use. I'll look at the ZEX site and check it out. Cool.
