Rust

I had my windshield replaced today and the technician said that there was about 12" of rust along the top passenger side. My car has always been garaged, but I suppose the salt on the roads during the winter months takes it's toll. He said he cleaned it out and re-painted that area to slow down the rust. He also said it had been replaced once before. Hmmm. I bought the car used in June of 03 with 7500 miles on the clock. Anyone else find rust in this area when having a windshield replaced?

The rust may have been caused by the other windshield replacement. Sometimes they get sloppy and dont put primer on the flange and that will cause it. To bad the guy did not give you a chance to address it before the glass went in as it would have been a easy fix with the glass out.

I know that I am on my 3rd windshield. I hope that there isn't any rust.

If they primed things like they should you wont have a problem.
