O.k. I have a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria, the intake manifold coolant crossover finally cracked, less than a month out of the warranty, recall/replacement period. My current Ford dealership does not want to help me out, they said they called Ford and Ford wouldn't budge. Does anybody know if there's any good Ford dealerships in the Chicagoland area that could help me, or someone at Ford I could get ahold of, because the way I see it Ford still owes me a free intake manifold, and even if they wouldn't replace it for free, a substantial drop in price would be nice.

Same thing happened to me on the 97'. Call Ford, explain to them your situation, how much you love fords, and that you are a potential LIFE customer. In my case, they met with some brass, declined my case and offered me another case review in 3 months.
As you could imagine I needed it fixed, so I bought one for about $170 and replaced it myself. Took a solid 4 hours to fix, but was well worh the $500 install fee most shops would charge. Good Luck

I'd like to be a life long Ford customer, but I'm starting to lose faith in them, and I really don't think they're in much of a position to bargain.

They are not, IF they decide to offer you some sort of compensation it will be minimal and they will give you the royal run around. If I were Ford, I would argue that the car is old, you are not the original owner, and manifolds only crack when the car is severely beat on. I think you should cut your losses, save some time, and buy the manifold. Keep us posted.

The only Ford would give you a free intake manifold is if the vehicle is under 7 years of age and has the program for it. I can run your VIN just to be sure.

Yea, there was a petition on CVN a long time ago. They had like 50+ people sign it. Most of them replaced it, even though it was unfair, and Ford gave them some sort of compesation for it. Usually though, they won't replace it like Brian stated.

They would've replaced it, that seven year term ended on April 21st for me. 136,000 miles.

FORD does not usually budge on warranty extension programs. They are very specific for coverage. In the years I worked in FORD service they would offer assistance if you were a regular customer, and not only warranty. Even then it had to be just out of coverage limitations.
The intakes are not hard to replace and aftermarket can be had alot cheaper than dealer:

the only thing I would do if you choose to do it yourself, at a dealer, or an outside shop insist on fuel injector O-ring replacement
Good luck with FORD and your car.
