I had a tune done a few years back and got much better gas mileage out of the car. When it got a new engine it needed a new tune and now it'll get 25mpg on the highway! It went 281 miles on about 11.2 gallons. I'm wondering why Ford didn't program these cars to get that kinda mileage and additional performance? It used to get 21 or 22 at best. Now it's got unlocked horsepower and a longer range.... how can that go wrong? Do changing the settings cause damage in the end? I just don't get why these cars didn't come the "tuned" way. Any thoughts?

That's not bad, the most I get with my MGM is 24.5 MPG on interstate driving. Although it I was driving between 70-85 MPH.
Having a 2.73 rear ratio is nice on highway and top speed

What speed are you traveling at to achieve the 25 mpg?

I've been getting 15 mpg city and 19 mpg highway with my tune. :depress:

I was going 70-80 usually, sometimes 85 and avoiding downshifting when I went to make a pass. So basically I was babying the car.

I may be able to get that kind of mileage, but I would have to get out and push for the last 50 miles or so. 25 mpg would be bliss.....

On a side note, I took the caddy down to the Ocean last weekend and averaged a nice 7 mpg (429ci V8)

clocked it at 27.6 mpg doin the speed limit up to foxwoods some time ago *65mph*. (3.27's of course)

If i stay between 75-80 i will manage about 25, no problem...

My ''daily grind'' driving of a 30/70 mix will get me 20-21 all day long

How could you only do 65MPH on RT95, going that slow is very hard with these cars. I have tried to slow down, but that does not last more than a couple miles, and hate cruise control
