McCulloch 6000K 9007 dual-beam bulb kit. Being as exhaust as I was last night I only checked one bulb for high-beam ignition and it worked so I figured the other one did also......nope, both work fine on low beam, just need to re-adjust my headlamp aiming so they don't blind people. Anyone know how to adjust the headlamp aim?

Headlamp housing re-wiring

Had to cut the factory wiring harness to remove the other end of the plug from the headlamp housing.

Too busy with trying to hurry up and finish to go home I didn't take any of the ballast mounting pictures but I will get some and edit them in here.

And where'd you get them (also important)

$399.99 with free standard shipping or pay for fast shipping. I bought them from www.xenonpros.com Pricing was the same for all the different lighting outputs, just cost a little more because it's dual beam. Single beam kits are around $250 or something like that to that. The real question will be how their customer service is with getting my one bulb replaced since the high-beam doesn't ignite.

Any pics of the cutoff level? Can you aim them at a wall somewhere and take a pic of that?

Sure thing, I will do that tonight. Any certain distance I should be away from the wall?

This should shed some light on the subject...

Thanks, I did a search and found an old headlamp adjustment thread. Also for some strange reason I just unplugged the low and high beam connection to the passenger side light and plugged it back it and the high beam works now

Another question...

Is this a bi-xenon setup? or is it just a lowbeam HID with halogen highbeam?

Thanks, that would be awesome. I've been considering this mod myself and that's my biggest hesitation. I'd think anywhere from 15-30 feet would be good.

It looks like a nice kit, but $399 is alot. Single beam should not be used, who never uses high beams?

Here is the pictures you guys wanted. I re-aimed the lights just a tad below factory spec at 30ft. I could tell they weren't blinding people too much lol and could still see just fine. Btw I used the first break in my garage door as a ref. point about 3" above is a mark when the bumper was an inch away then rolled it back 30ft and used the cross horizon point which is the horizontal gray strip on my door and as you can see the lights cut off just at it.

Holy crap that garage is huge. Thanks for the pics. I've always wondered how well HIDs would work in a non-HID housing. It looks like they still have a decent cut off point and won't blind people. My headlights are pitiful. It needs bulbs. $399 isn't too much more than $20 for replacement bulbs, right? :D

That's about where mine sit, just right. If you are to compare it to another vehicle. mine don't go past the top of the rear bumper on an F-350.

I always use my highbeams. The lowbeams on my car look like, well, nothing. Never once has somebody flashed me for having the highbeams on. Ford sucks when it comes to lighting!!!

However, i shouldnt think there would be a need for highbeams with the aftermarket HIDS. I'd go cheapie with this mod personally :cool4:

I have no high beams. There is no need for them. There are times when I come over a hill and the person is lower than me, they get blinded and flash me like I have high's on.

I can't believe you have to use high beams, are you lights fogged over?? Ever adjust the aiming. Factory always seems too low. I know when I lived in Bayside you could drive with lights off ;) due to the street lighting.

I have replaced mine with OEM light assemblies, put in silverstar bulbs, and reset aiming. Now they are quite bright on low beam. On highbeam I'll blind  people.

Headlights are actually crystal clear! I wax them after almost every car wash. I think the bulbs are original because they seem dim. I got the car with 19k on it in Nov of 05'. Now, almost 30k later, i have yet to change the headlights.

It could just be time for new lights, but i'd rather have an excuse for HID's, LOL

Pictures of headlights can be difficult.

I am sure they look awesome.
Great mod.
You'll have to keep us informed on the bulb longevity.

I have always had bad luck with aftermarkits bulbs.

for now try the silverstars, nice white light. It makes the cornering lights look yellow.

Do a headlamp relay upgrade along with some new XtraVision bulbs. Light output will increase dramitcally ;)

I couldn't imagine my lights any brighter.

Who makes Xtravision bulbs, and are they the same wattage of OEM ?

So far the lights have been flawless and I feel more confident when driving because I can see a whole lot more which was the main reason for going to HID. The silverstars were a very good bulb but still not enough for me, next bulbs to be replace will be the parking lights with some silverstars, is the bulb # 3157?

They are made my Sylvania - they have the same lumen output as silverstars, but last much longer. They are *much* brighter than the stock/OEM bulbs as well - to be honest almost all 'decent' aftermarket bulbs will be brighter than the stock bulbs. The Ultras are supposed to have a much better life span than the previous silverstars, though.

The majority of the difference is from the relay upgrade. Panthers w/9007 lamps have a nasty voltage drop over the factory wiring. Using relays to switch a fused thicker gauge wire eliminates this, most notice an incredible difference in light output.

I wonder if doing the headlamp relay upgrade mod would be a wise idea with having HIDs now?

I don't think it would have as noticeable of an impact - but it certainly wouldn't hurt ;)

aren't the HID kits wired straight to the battery, and use the OEM wire for trigger only??
If so you are wasting time and money to upgrade to relays when it is built into the ballast already

Yeah I guess you are right about that one. I totally forgot they are direct wired to the battery.
