My car has a CD Changer. I am removing it.
Can it go in ANY other MM, or is wiring missing?
My wiring for the Changer runs w/ the lights it seems. It IS NOT it's own cable run.

It has its own harness and I believe the connection is behind the drivers kick panel.
You can give it and the wiring to me.
Thanks

Listen weiner.... re-read my post.
The wiring in the trunk, that connects to the changer, is ran IN A BUNDLE with the lights. The ENTIRE BUNDLE would need to be unwrapped to get the cables out.
Maybe I could just cut the plug off of each end :D

Then it would be the new wireless model.

just curious why would you want to remove the harness? are you going to put it in another MM? IF so i think the radio has to have the option for a changer, and most time the harness is already there.

I would remove the Harness to send w/ the Changer to it's new owner. That is, if the Harness is not built into every car.

Only if cd was dealer installed (FORD equip) would the harness be a seperate cable. Usually factory installed the harness for it is integral with body harness.

A harness can be added to make the CD changer functional.

Steve,
If Zack does not want the changer, I will take it.

I ran into this exact problem. I got a CD changer from a member here for my Marauder which did not come with one. My car did not have a wire harness for the CD changer. I went to the dealer to make sure after I tore the whole trunk apart looking for the wire harness. They told me it did not have the harness for the CD changer and that my radio may not be CD changer compatable. They pushed the CD button on the radio to determine if it was CD changer ready......it was. When you push the button it should say something like "CD No DJ" or something having to do with DJ. You have to push it twice I think. I got the harness for 75 bucks and it was a hard part to find, but I got it and mounted the CD changer in my center console. Now I dont have to get out to change the cartridge!
