View Full Version : Holy Afterburner Batman........
My new ZEX traction controller is now installed, thanks to my talented son, Jason, the Honda Mech. His installation is a work of art.:bows:
A special thanks to Lilalleykat for help me find the right wire for the tach.
It works great. I've set the spray to come on at 4K RPM, just after I hook up in first gear. It's just like the movie. A BIG kick in the butt and I'm in orbit.:banana2:
Now I can compete and take a back seat to nobody. OK, maybe MartyO, Defyant, DR, TAF. OK OK everybody on this board, but I'm trying. :bigcry:
Looking for low 13's at Marauderville.:burnout:

Excellent!
Are you going to put her on a dyno? It would be interesting to see the dyno graph when the nitrous hits.
Do you have to retune for the 100 shot?

Jeremey;
Sad to say there's no dyno in my area. Nearest one is 200 miles away in the Dallas area.
Lideo put in my XCAL-1 his standard Marauder tune for 93 octane and a 6 degree retarded ignition tune in the #3 spot for my nitrous application. This is very conservative as I've experienced no detonation with either tune loaded.
According to the graphs published using an engine stand mounted 4.6 DOHC the power comes on nearly instantaneously. The 100 shot kit shows gains of 118 horse power. The Spray was set to activate at 4K RPM fotr all the dyno runs. I'll reference the document tomorrow, store is closed today.
Of course if the engine is in a car the rear wheel horsepower will be less.
I believe DR has a thread in his forum tuning the ZEX wet set up identical to mine and has posted the applicable charts.
With my new RPM window controller I don't have to waste the power in tire spin at the launch but have control of when the spray fires. I did a couple of dry runs, found that my tires hooked up fully around 3.5K so I set the nitrous to fire at 4K. My god, the rush, I'm so glad ZEX put this product on the market. They shouldn't sell their street kit without it. IMHO.

Looking forward to seeing you at the track. We will be racing on new pavement. Mason Dixon is doing a major upgrade before the event.

Nope, it's not that far. We've got one here in Lufkin.

Pat, those of us not able to go Marauderville will
be standing by for the results.
Good luck!!
Here is the reference that I mentioned in a previous post about 4.6/5.4L

Pat, I can't wait to get my kit installed. I'm envious that you have a son that does all of your work. I only have girls, and they could care less. I will have to pay a local speed shop to do my install.
Anyhow, I'm happy that you are able to hook up better with the window switch. I hope to find out in a couple of weeks what that is like.
Hopefully, I will have a couple of pulls on the dyno when I do mine. I'll let you know what my numbers are.
Thanks for your updates!
