Designed an easily installed hook that I will use on vacation to hold 2 light suitcases. I drilled the existing hole to 3/16" for #10 bolt. Most of the force when strapped-down is against the lower egge of trunk, quite sturdy in this area. If interested, send me personal message and I'll send you sketch that you can take to your local fab shop and have a pair made. If you don't like it, shut-up and go to next thread.

Thomas - You are intitled to do any thing you want to your MM, even the dreaded vinly roof. The only that has to like your mod is you. IMHO.

All right you nuts!! Yes, we take a lot of stuff, kinda like Chevy Chase in that movie. Lites are factory items, smoked??? It's a snowman not teddy bear, and he stays clean inside car, it's my son's thing, he likes to wave it at people as we drive along, he's a happy guy. Vinyl roof, no way. Hooks are temporary for vacation times. Enjoy!
