View Full Version : My Rear Makes Noise (Really!)

Weird creaking noise from the left rear if I come to a stop or if I then back up even a few inches or go forward a few inches. It makes the noise only when the car initially moves so I can reproduce it forward and backward repeatedly in the driveway. At first I thought it might be an axle but it seems like it make be more suspension related but not sure.
Any guesses?

Nothing obvious with sway bar or shocks so far.

I have the same exact noise. The dealer tride to find it when i had a axle seal changed and they said it was my brakes.Ha!
Well i changed my brakes for KVRs and the creaking is still there to this day.
I spray lubed all the rubber mounts to see if it would go away, no help.
Someone posted a S/B about a crack in the frame at the rear track bar mount(?) I don't think it is that.
So far the radio volume has fixed it.
Good luck

Lot of people say that noise is the e-brake assembly

+1 for Zack's comment. E-brake assembly not releasing fully.

Check your E-brake.
It sounds as if it is hanging up or dragging.

If you have metco control arms it could be them being not tightened properly.

You may have worn out the bolt holes for the 4 link suspension arms, and the bolts are moving a bit (forward and back) the hole may no longer be round.

Justa a thought
