Am I going to have to get the whole thing replaced, or is there anything else I can do about this?

Looks like you will have to get it replaced. Do you have glass coverage with your car insurance?

Be sure to get the right windshield as there was a difference between early and late 2003 regarding the shading area...be sure it is original Ford equipment...most insurance is zero deductible for glass...

New windshield. Careful washing the car till you do, cause that baby will grow.

Try putting cellophane tape over the crack. Use 3M tape. Do Not Use The tape cutter.
Prep the surface w/ alcohol, not the kind you drink.
Do it in the shade w/ a fresh razor. The hardest part is the tape over lapp. Feather in the overlapp and cut off the corners. Put the 3M Cellophane tape on the outside and then the inside.
Good luck.

Yes, No offense to Steve. Sometimes you just have to laugh these things off. Mine got a stone crack last week.
It can be saved for a while. I have had good luck with the Pennzoil crack repair sold at Walmart. The key being to line it up directly over the hole.
Will try to repair it tommorrow.

I just had Statefarm replace my windshield with Carlite OEM.
Very inexpensive for the size. I cannot remember the figure, but it was under $300.
And no, that crack is NOT repairable.

It's good to know people in the glass business, I paid $150 for a Carlite windshield installed. Stupid me did not want to put a claim in.

Yes., but not a fault with the car or the windshield but with the way we drive. We are always on someone's butt looking for a faster way to where ever. That leads to more windshield impacts from road debris. or is just me?. Good luck. Dennis

MY windshield cracked just the other day. I have no idea why, nothing hit the windshield I wasn't driveing it and I had the rear window slightly cracked open to prevent heat buid up.
