:mad2:You guys won't believe this bull sh$t either. Here's the scoop -- I order a rear spoiler Kit (part # same as the one you guys provided)from the Mercury stealership here in Honlulu (only one on the island) and pay $358.00 for it. I go to pick it up... open up the box and NO KIT nothing!:mad2: I talk to the parts person ... he tells me that the rear spoiler attaches using ONLY F#$%ing tape. This spoiler has the 4 treaded holes for the trunk mounts... give me a F#$%ing break. I ask him to call FORD direct and get me the KIT which I paid for. I call back three days later, and he tells me that he contacted FORD and they tell him the same thing, only tape. These people are pissing the sh$t out of me. These idiots expect me to pay that kind of money for a STICK on ... BULL SH$T!!! Here's where I need your guys help. Is there somewhere I can get just the kit? I refuse to TAPE things to my car NO WAY!!!

Bring it on guys, I need your help. All you FORD employees, any suggestions?
RoyLPita can you help? Somebody save me from this maddness. :mad2:

Thanks for your response my friend. Drilling with NO template scares the hell out of me! I really would like to use the treaded holes in the spoiler though...Thanks

PS. Already PM'ed Ray "the Dealer"

Local Boy:

Or should that be LOCO Boy from your post...

I have a set of complete instructions and drilling templates already scanned...send me a PM with your e-mail and you'll have them tonight.

BTW, the mounting bolts are common 8mm found in any decent hardware store.

Mine came with hardware, drill guides, and instructions.
I'll bet the dealer ordered a replacement spoiler instead of dealer installed kit

That's what I was thinking (larryo340). So I asked the guy if he had a replacement rear spoiler part #, he said no -- "That's the only one". His books tell him it's a KIT, His peoples At FORD (which ever one that is! ) tells him the Kit does not come with hardware?, instructions? -- Isn't that the definition of a KIT? THAT IT COMES WITH ALL THE HARDWARE, AND ALL THE PROPER INSTRUCTIONS? I guess they just have replacement spoilers, and ran out of the "KITS"? If that's the case, than sell it as such, and take off the word KIT!

Enough of that.

BTW: Thanks for letting me vent.

BTW: The earlier outburst (Thread starter) came out only through the key board. No human beings were injured in this story. LOL FYI -- I always treat everyone with RESPECT and ALOHA. Just needed some place safe to vent. Thanks again for all your understanding. ALOHA

You know, this key board thing is not a facsimile for venting agression. At least not a safe one to perserve mental health over a long period of time. You need to go back to the dealer and adjust this situation. Pay proper respect but forcefully make your point http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/3/8/5/5/nutkick.gif. You will feel a lot better for a LONG time and the next guy they feel an urge to jerk around will get a break. They will REMEMBER. Dennis:D

Thanks Dennis. I do intend to speak to other people regarding this situation. -- Of coarse, with respect and aloha -- I certainly appreciate your concern for my mental health - God knows, I need ALL the help I can get. LOL

ALOHA

BTW: Will keep posted

What part of Hawaii???

Been there several times and can't wait to get back. How can you have mental anguish where it is 85 and sunny every day Bra.....?

Only thing that is tough is dragging your azz to work/school every day when it's so nice out. Surf's up at 3:00 today- North Shore.

I like the wing, but won't drill the holes inn mine. Wish they would stay on with just tape. Good luck....

Hey! Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned rant, once in a while. I got a kick out of it; but was glad to see you've contacted Ray, which by the way, is where you should have started this madness in the first place.

It might have been fun, though, to let the dealership's body shop stick it on, then go for a test ride.

More important than the template are the 4 t inserts. The insert goes into the srew hole and a flat surface goes against the trunk with double side tape. Line up the spoiler, press it against the trunk and the 4 inserts stick to the trunk. Then you drill through them. I could mail you the inserts. I have three original ones and one I made myself. As far as hardware I think I used 4 8x32 stainless allen head screws, 4 big rubber washers and 4 small stailess washers. I took the spoiler into Ace hardware to determine the correct size screw.

Thanks guys for your support. Ron, you hit it on the nail...I was really worried about that very aspect of the installation. GOOD NEWS though, (I hope) talked to the Tech support people (got the number off the instructions RF Overlord sent me --Thanks My Friend ) they said they will call my parts person to let him know that they will be sending him the KIT for me. I will call later in the day to see if it goes.
BTW: Ron, got your Dead Pedal the other day -- AWESOME. You do some GOOD work! Thanks alot for the offer of those pieces, that was very kind of you, hopefully I won't need them. ALOHA

Howzit Local Boy? If things get better for you at that Nimitz dealer then develop a relationship with the parts department. If not, bail. Most of the guys I know go to the two Ford dealerships for parts and service. Once upon a time I thought to give the Mercury dealer a try, and ordered a simple front license plate mount and paid for it. Your post just reminded me of that order, and I still haven't received it, or any contact about it. Problem is...that was about two years ago.

not only did it come with all the hardware it also came painted

Howzit NRAUD, Yeah, I know how you feel...Good news though -- got my parts guy in touch with the Tech guy and they tell me the KIT is being "over nighted" and will be in tomorrow. I think this will be a good opportunity to strike up a good relationship with the Brutha (parts guy) who had some misinformation. Thanks guys for all your support --- ALOHA

4 8x32 stainless allen head screws. I took the spoiler into Ace hardware to determine the correct size screw.

My screws were metric.

It would worry the sh$t out of me that just using tape it wouldn't fly off after awhile.
