I recently read a review of the Shelby GT in Motortrend and noticed that the tires are 235/50-18 on all four corners. Same size as our fronts. I wonder if they will have the center wear issue as our rears.

I was told by the guy at Town Fair Tire that my centers on my rear, (my fronts are fine?) is because of an alignment issue, and that any tire I put on there would do the same, it wouldn't matter. He said there is a whole bunch of factors as to why I have the center tread worn more than the outers. PSI, roll factor, camber angle, how hard I run the tires. Not sure if all of it is true, but I believe some is.

WRONG!!!:shake:
Do a search...this has been addressed for 4 years and pressure too low on the rears causes center wear on HIGHWAY cars.......Not sure about around town but I can attest the centers on my OEM rears lasted twice as long with 45 PSI......still only about 25K miles!!!:bows:

Rear of the Marauder is not alignable.

I know, I was talking about the front's since the inside of my tires are a bit worn, but everywhere else on them is perfect.

So...we are all familiar with the Alignment specs from CARFIXER...right. I had my alignment change to these specs and all is good so far.
If you have not seen the specs...check them out: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/reviews/showproduct.php/product/34/sort/2/cat/all/page/1

I could be wrong but isn't the max PSI allowed for the OEM rear 44 PSI?

I took it to mean the rears, yes, realign to the carfixer specs and your fronts will be fine. The rear issue also has to do with the tire stagger F-R. Nothing we can do about that on a 04 due to the TC.

my front tires seemed to wear just fine along with the rears at 40 psi

Rear tire pressure does not seem to make a difference for me. I've run it at 40 and 35 (spec for 04) and the centers still wear out. My rears have less than 10k on them and have noticeable wear. They'll be toast before the end of this summer season.

Nitto 420S and carfixer alignment lasted me 37K for rears. Drag racing and burnouts included.
