No reverse sounds like a terminal lack of pressure problem as it is a direct hydraulic circuit. This is the first I've heard in a Marauder. I'm sorry you got the bad egg. They will probably replace the unit in order for the plant to analyze the failure. In any event, I doubt you'll have any future problems in that area. As far as #'s go I'm not privvy to that info but cars of color(other than black) will definitely be rare(r) by collector standards.

My tranny went at 44 miles, it completely blew while I was passing a truck. The new one shifts constantly, and has a 3000rpm bog. I hate this tranny

Kevin.....There may be a new PCM flash for your car depending on what you have now. Otherwise.......DRChip! Makes the tranny work a whole lot better. (Among other things)

Kevin, did they give you a new or rebuilt transmission?
Usually these transmissions are quite trouble free.

The other issue maybe is linkage. My 2002 Crown Vic LX Sport (with same shifter, but different trans?) is often slow to go into reverse unless I push lever tightly into reverse-seeming like linkage not set quite right. Havent had a chance to take it in for that, 54K on car now, doesnt sit still much.

jrc50 - Welcome to the site. With 54K you must really be enjoying the ride.

jrc50, it may well be linkage. i think some guys with early Marauders experienced something similar to that, and it was corrected with a linkage adjustment

They did give me a new transmission, off the assembly line. I just can't get used to the elctronic control. If I'm light on the pedal, it's in overdrive by 40mph. Then when you give it a little gas, it downshifts, let off at all, and it's back in overdrive. Too much gas and it's redline city. The shifts seem to take a long time too. I've had it flashed, and the dealer says they all do this and other people have complained too.

One of the things his chip does best is correct the shift schedule...makes it feel like it SHOULD...
