I was just on Diablosport.com reading there forum posts. I saw a couple posts where the guys from Diablo were saying a custom tune could give up to 200HP, most seemed to be trucks though. is that really possible from a custom tune? if so whats the most possible HP for a Marauder with a custom tune?

Turbo diesels gain GOBS of power with a tune, I don't know about 200hp with a custom tune but it would not surprise me. My buddy picked up over 100 hp and probably close to 200 tq with an sct tuner. But you can't get that with a Marauder, unless you swap in a turbo diesel....

Bone Stock + tune.... I would say 250 - 275 RWHP would be the MOST on a VERY unsafe tune.

PS - This is nothing more than a wild guess....

Far be it from me to contradict Diablosport, but I don't believe anyone can get THAT much out of just a tune on an N/A gas motor. It's just not there.

That claim is very reallistic for a turbo diesel.

What vehicles that were not diesel were claiming 200 hp from a custom tune what were their mods?

Stevo, they're talking gain, not net.;)

I personally have seen Jerry W. dyno a Harley PU with a turbo diesel, using his own personal SCT tune, and gaining nearly 75 hp on tune alone, and changing the trucks performance characteristics incredibly.

I used Diablo for several years, as do many of my friends in the autocross forums.

However, with no other knowledge than what I have...a 200 hp increase with tune alone, and absolutely no other mods, sounds like fish story. Regardless of the type of motor.

Expect an average of 35 hp on tune alone in our Marauders regardless of tuning manufacturer.

i dont recall 200Hp for a non-diesel but claims of 85Hp on a car, i have to go back and look again. there was various amounts like 65HP and 85HP for various vehicles. I just didnt realize u could get so much from a tune.

Turbo diesels react very different when tuning comes into play. My Dad's friend has an '03 F-350 that is pushing about 550rwtq just with a tune, intake/exhaust.

Isn't the next logical question this:

What turbo diesel will fit in our Marauders?

Hell, didn't you all see the Pimp My Ride epsidoe where they built a green house friendly car that ran on bio-diesel. I believe it was a '65 Impala SS and it had a 6.6l Duramax TD in it. TT setup and an Allison tranny. It did the 1/4 in like 11 seconds I believe.

I saw the end of that one. That's one bad arse ride!!!! It'd make me drive a diesel!

Put an iron blocked diesel over our front suspension and might as well call it a truck cuz the rear will NEVER stay planted!

The new 3L V6 CRD in the Grand Cherokee and MB ML's would fit nicely. Not a lot of hp, but almost 400 lb/ft!

I still the powertrain to make our cars feel much better is the new 300hp 3V 4.6 with the 6speed auto. Ford is using that in the Sport Cracks now.
