Okay folks, I still have some sets of the fender badges left. A few of the folks that said that they would be ordering didn't, so.....

If you want the badges, follow the instructions in this thread:

Martyo,
I would like to claim 2 sets, if possible, to replace the ones I have currently on the cars. Please reserve me 2 sets and I'll send you a check immediately.
Question: I have 2 sets of the original ones, but noticed today theat they are starting to fade/discolor. How long in your opinion should they last without discoloring? No rant, just an honest question.

Thanks,
GordonB

I have an original set as well, and recall that there was something that could be done to fading/discolored badges to restore appearance. Anyone know what that is?

I have this problem as well. Not only fading but yellowed spots are now appearing in the finish. I thought about another set but might have the same problem in a couple years. Is there an answer for this?

IIRC; A good coat of a "cleaning wax" like Mequires would make them look like new.

If you take a new set of Emblems and give them a few coats of clear coat paint
you should not have any problems with fading or discoloration.

Either Joe Walsh or MeninBlk's suggestion will work. No one has said that anything more than a coat of wax was necessary, but you can buy Duplicolor clear coat in a rattle can and I am sure that a few coats of that will do the trick.

If someone from an earlier batch has a documented problem, please PM me and we will work something out in the way of a discount on a new set.

Many of us had the discolor issue, even me. I also was clueless to the solution.

Use a 100% cotton towel/terry with a little cleaner wax and rub.
Rub as if it were your knob!

These badges are awesomely made, and eventually, will no longer be found.

It's not like he made 11,000 of them.

Get 'em...and get 'em NOW!!!

My emblems stood up to almost 3 years and 70,000 miles of punishment.
A little wax always made then look like new.

If I had the time, I woud have clear coated them prior to installing them.
I'll have to do this to my spare set now and replace them.

Rub as if it were your knob!

This is Barry's advice, not mine. I tend to rub my knob more carefully than any car parts. Then again, I don't scale 100 foot trees and cut them down!! ;)

I do scale 100 foot knobs and I do not cut them down.

Cutting down trees only leads to more Green Haus Gases increasing Global Warming. For each 100' tree you cut down your Carbon Foot print has increased to the size of Big Foots.

Cheryl Crow is wrong you can do it with 1/2 sheet of TP. Just fold it like the flag and use each edge like a squeeeeeeeeeeegee!

The greatest enviro threat is a lack of water. As a result of the depleting Ozone Layer it is evaporating into space. This disappearing natural resource will be the undoing of the humans.

If we run out of water, I'll just drink beer!

I think that the most important thing that is growing scarce is gasoline!

End the sale of Hummers and all SUVs!!!
