Today I had noticed something that has been plaguing this car since day one. Not only have i had issues with the TC lockup/shifting schedule (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=schedule&spell=1)
but now i feel the t/c lockup getting sloppy. Almost as if its "blending" into a gear... This occurance is more evident after 30 mins of driving
Now, my question to anyone who can answer it, would you feel this is a result of
A) Transmission overheat
B) Lack of fluid flow
C) Poor computer progaming
D) All the above, and then some
Thanks in advance!

My tranny knowledge is somewhat limited, but I'll bite. Could be any or all. Ford's programming for the convertor is incremental and not a on/off type switching. It makes for a very smooth transition to lock-up. It's not supposed to be like another shift, rather it's made to be transparent.

Where's TripleTransAm when we need him? He did a rather extensive analysis of the shift scheduing and converter lockup parameters and determined just what JMan said ^^^...the TC locks in stages.
Len, when was the last time the ATF was changed? Did you use Mercon V?

The last time the fluid was changed was appx 25k ago when the transmission was rebuilt (which was at 22k).
Ford did the tranny, so i suppose whatever fluid was recommended by the factory was used.
However, the fluid smells fine and looks very clean with no bubbling.

Sounds like you may have torque converter chatter. It is caused by fluid breaking down and causing the torque converter clutch to glaze causing a chatter instead of smooth engagement. A tranny flush and a couple of hundred miles should do the trick if it is you converter chattering.
I personally recommend flushing the trans at 15K. An external trans cooler will extend the life of the fluid.

Go back to the people that rebuilt your tranny and ask if they used MERCON V.
If they used anything else, this is the source of your problem.
The Marauder transmission MUST use MERCON V.
You would be surprised at what some dealers are using for the transmission.

Good idea. I will call the dealer and ask them what they possibly may have used (if they dont record what fluid had been used) when doing the tranny.

I believe the "chatter" you are talking about is the "grind" like I got on my old aero Vic when hot.
If thats the case, thats not whats occuring here. No type of grinding is occuring (or what would be construed as a rear possibly going bad).

Do yourself a favor and get a tune. Lonnie at Blue Oval Chips in FLA is a great tuner and tuned my old '95 CV.
