This isn't a direct Marauder related question but thought I could ask here as it is a question in regards to a 96 Mark Vlll. I have a KB SC MarkVlll with the 'C" heads and my question relates to my fuel / economy display not reading accurately any more. It over states my fuel economy on average by about 25%. By traditional milage / gallons math I am at 20 MPG's while the display indicates near 25.5MPG. Have you been able to straighten out this problem with your cars. From time to time I have bought some things from you and your service has been outstanding, so I value your imput. Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this issue. I had gotten so used to having this gage it feels as if I'm lost by not having it. :)

Don't have the option you discussed in my '03, and not sure it was an available option on either the '03 or '04 cars.
Anybody else have info they can pass along?

Did you check speedometer accuracy, OEM tire size, and as Dennis said does rear gear have matching speedo drive gear in the transmission?

Dennis, it is setup with 3:73 gears. The chip was programmed for these new gears, and the speedo is reading correctly. Are you suggesting I also change my tranny gear out as well?
My new tire size calcs out to same circumference as stock, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Just a thought. Has anyone been in the fuel tank? Possible sender unit arm bent giving slightly false readings which in turn would throw off calculations. The module uses input from fuel sender as well.

I can read gallons to empty which appears correct (i.e. at half tank on fuel gage display will show ~8.5 gallons left). Yes, we did install a Focus Fuel pump and a KB BAP unit. I thought maybe due to remapping the fuel curve, pressure, etc that some how the new info was confusing the the unit. I know Dennis has done several Mark Vlll SC cars and wanted to know if he had a work around or it's a problem I'm alone with. Thanks for your responses.

Display still doesn't match actual MPG, never mind the instant MPG. Any ideas out there. Am I waisting my time trying to get this function to work correctly again??

The unit may be programmed with its own parameters
and they may still be equivalnet to your car's stock specs.
You may have modified everything you could to get the Speedo
and the PCM reading accurately, but to the F/E display,
it is reading all of the sensors and computing based on stock specs.
You may have to check around on some of the Lincoln sites
to see if these can be reprogrammed.

Dennis :
Is this a case where there is no way to get the readout to work correctly, based on your experience with SC Mark Vlll's?
