What is the cost of installing 4.10 gears? In other words, if I buy the gears, what will the dealership or some other shop charge me to install them properly?

I paid $200 at a local Speed Shop.

I supplied the Gears, Cover, Stud Kit, Install Kit and Fluids.

I paid a little more,250 .
200-300 is a pretty normal, "good guy" rate.
Dealership labor rates, tend to be considerably higher.

I assume that I will have to replace the gasket and the fluid (thinking of going with Royal Purple). But beyond that ... do I have to change the cover, studs or anything else?

I would replace the Pinion Bearing. It can be a bear to get off w/o damaging it. You do not HAVE to replace the Cover, but it is cheap insurance for the price.

I got the Ford 8.8" "B" Install Kit from Jegs..

I paid $200.00 in labor to get my 4.10's installed.

I bought the gears, bearings, seals, fluid (Redline synthetic), rear cover and stud kit.

We can talk this Saturday about the tune & everything else.
