So I take it you have to put 500 miles of normal driving on it before any WOT or burn outs? Am I correct? Could I ask a round about figure as to how much it all cost (chip, stat, plugs, 4:10's)?

I was told to vary my speeds for 200 miles or so with the gears.....but trust me, I was testing launches the next day...that's varying speeds right? :P
Thgere is no break in on the chip-stat-plugs.....go head...make your day!
amerikan,
500 mile break in, are you nuts? Members correct me if I'm wrong but I've never heard of having to break in a car after changing gears, especialy if the car already has 25k on it. The wrench who did work should have properly test driven it and you can't tell me that there is wrench out who doesn't WOT every car they do a performance mod to. Amerikan go have fun with your car if the job was done correct you shouldn't have any problems if it wasn't you're better off finding out sooner than later. Just don't freak out when you see those RPM creaping past the red line. That's what they're supposed do with the chip.
Now go "drive it like you stole it".

marauder 2306.. i hope this is true.. is there anyone else that can help me decide ..500 miles or not.. i dont know why they told me 500? any help
Drive your car like you're going to continue to drive your car.
How else are you going to know if you have a concern with the install. Your guy that told you that is full of it.

Like CRUZTAKER said, there should be no "break-in" period required for the chip, plugs, or 'stat...although it might be wise to hold back for the 200 miles or so he mentioned because of the new gears...give them a chance to get acquainted, so to speak...

^^^Exactly^^^
I know it's hard to take advice sometimes when it clashes with others....but those of who have them, know....so trust us.
200 miles is clocked in two to three days of normal tooling around. It'll be done before you know it, the gears just have to get used to getting hot, then cold, then hot......now that they're in the car, they aren't going anywhere...'cept round and round.
During this very short break in, vary your speeds...hell, do 100 if you get away with it, do 25 all the way to the market! And for gods sake.....do a launch! :)

Ditto to TAF...It's gears, they either work or don't work. There isn't any break in period I've ever heard of.

Sarg the only thing special I did for gears is change the rear end oil after 1,000 miles and every 10,000 there after.
No break-in is required, these gears are machined and heat treated to very close tolerances. Boys it is WOT time!
