View Full Version : The Jacket Cometh

33 days since I purchased my Maruader and my leather jacket arrived ! I like to give kudos where they are deserved so here is one for LM. This is no cheapo jacket, the leather is super soft, smells great and comes with its own carrying cover. They throw a marauder sticker in to boot but I have no idea where to put it. It's kind of funny that my dealer told me at time of purchase that it was just a promo for the first 200 customers:D

Got mine today as well. I was surprised to see no logo of any kind on the jacket's exterior, only the God's Head on the interior lining. Personally, I think an embossed God's Head on the back of the jacket (as what's found on the front seats) would have gone a long way in promoting the car, but overall the jacket is one high quality piece of clothing!

I agree with TripleTransAm. It's nice that the jacket lining and inside tag say Marauder, but a classy embossed God's Head and embossed "Marauder" name somewhere on the outside would have been really great. Nobody notices the God's Head cuff buttons and zipper pull. The jacket is beautifully made, though. Just wish they also had a style that would fit a woman better.;)
By the way. My sister and brother-in-law just saw my MM for the first time. They loved it. My b-in-law says "pop the hood." So I pop it. Soon as I lift the hood, he jumps back and says WHOA! Never saw his 6'2" large frame jump so fast. He may be in love (with the MM, of course). Don't tell my sister.

Buy the Marauder T-shirt and gods-head cap thru your LM dealer and wear them...you'll be surprised how many questions it will raise regarding your MM with people on the street.

The jacket is pretty nice and the custom buttons are cool....the thing smells great.....but I must admit...some kind of pocket embosing or something would have been cool.....but to be honest...I don't know of many cars that come with a jacket.....

Oops. I didn't even look at the cuff buttons or zipper pull (although I did briefly wonder why it was wrapped in delicate paper...). I was in a hurry to go pick up my wife after having dropped off my mistress, I didn't have much time to look at it. (joking, of course)
I agree about the engine. It's a status thing. Pop the hood on my GTA and you're greeted by long shiny pipes on the intake runners. Pop the hood on my '78 and the old Pontiac 400 looks so muscular with that shaker scoop sitting on the carb. Pop the hood on the Marauder and WHOA look at the size of that engine, that is one BIG hunk of metal and wall-to-wall valvecovers.
(ps: pop the hood on my WS6 and half the engine is under the cowl... kind of anti-climactic... :( )

The jacket I got with my '99 Cobra Mustang has the "cobra" logo where it is immediately identifiable, nice touch. The LM is a study in understatement, but the jacket actually fits better. I think they made the LM jackets for us old guys. Ouch.

I've had mine for two months and haven't heard anything about the jacket. Sounds like it's time to call the dealership and find out WTF!
Unfortunately- Winter will be here before you know it!
The jacket IS quite nice...and I like the fact that it's a little "stealthy" (like the car) and doesn't have a godshead on the out side.
Enjoy! It kept me warm (and stylin) last winter...

This coming from an Atlanta boy... I'd better get on the phone with Ford of Canada and ask for a second or third jacket to layer up with, this coming winter!

WTF?? I was told by Ford on the 800 number that the jacket wasn't standard in Canada. I haven't recieved one, nor any certificate.
Is it listed on your window sticker?

I'll have to check. I doubt it was listed on the window sticker, since it's mostly a promotional thing.
What's your build date? Your purchase date? Maybe they cancelled it recently... Mine is a Feb '03 build that was purchased in March. I didn't have to do anything in order to trigger the little order form I received some 2-3 weeks later... except, as WolfeBros mentioned, buy the damned car.
(Good one, by the way, WolfeBros... LOL!)

Built 12/03/2002, so before yours, and purchased 2/17/2003.
Had it since February - no word on the jacket, no little card in the mail, nothing. I put in a call to the 800 number, and posted a little note on the 'customer service' website. All it got me was an automated response saying "Please check with your dealer...". Beh.

They may be on vacation. Most of the times I've called that number I've been greeted by a female with a nice voice (and one time it was a male with a nice voice). Never an automated response.
Update: I just called that number and spoke to a female with a nice voice  who, when asked if the Jacket offer was valid in Canada, replied in a surprised tone "SURE it is!". So I told her I'd have you call her... 1-800-661-4567 .
Have your VIN and address ready, and she'll take care of you (or at the very least, make sure you receive a leather jacket within a week :D )

You rock Steve. :bows:
I've been calling Ford, not BeanStalk. Silly me!
It's after 5:00 Eastern, so I left a message. They'll get back to me, if not, I'll pester them till they do.

Well, son of a gun... I didn't realize I was calling BeanStalk! Everytime I called them, the beginning part of the greeting would be cut-off, probably because the person answering the phone would not let the line connect fully on their PBX before announcing the greeting!
Glad to have helped!

Hope your jacket is in "normal" size. I ordered a 4xl, they said it will be 2 months before I get it (6'7" 300lb) I am sure the sleeves will be be short,, but hey, the MM is an automatic, who needs arms, I will just trim them at the elbows (the arms NOT the jacket) :)

This is the guy to contact at Beanstalk. I hadn't received my jacket and once I got up with him, it was quickly in the mail. All he needed was the VIN and the address.

Yes, the lady with the nice voice talks fast when she answers the phone.
She did have my card, it was returned undeliverable because my address is very difficult. It involves Range Roads and Township roads and can be confusing to people distracted by shiny objects. More like a GPS co-ordinate than an address
But my Jacket is on the way!
Thanks again!

My MM was built and purchased in Jan, received the jacket a few weeks later. The jacket is not listedon the sticker. It is listed in the brochure. FMC has a disclaimer that they have the right to change or delete any equipment or option at any time.

I know this question has been answered before....somewhere.
How do the jackets come as sizing/fit goes:??
Large: 42-44 or 46?
X-Large 48
XX Large 50-52
Are they generally larger or smaller then the stated size?
Beanstalk said they would mail me a card today.
Hate to go through the hassel of sending the damn thing
back if it dosen't fit right. Thanks for any info. Any tips on
fit would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a 44R in a sport coat. I ordered a large and it fits perfect. It's cut a little wide but I nornally carry a shoulder holster (right side) with spare magazines (left)in the winter and appreciate the room-excellent fit. Sleeves and length are great.

I sent my card in on the 8th of this month, and today the jacket arrived by UPS... Can't beat it, I just wish, like some of you have said that some Marauder emblem was on the back of the jacket... I'm not complaining too much though ! Its a first class jacket..
