original owner had turned it in and bought a honda:(

I have a question with 76,300 miles on it, what modes would you recommend and which ones would you guys stay away from?

thank you, you guys have a great forum here i've been lurking around for a while and decided to join last week.

dealer still hasn't taken the add out of the Auto Trader and I don't have my own pics yet of the car so I just posted the link!

Welcome to the Quicksilver Club. Please be nice to the owners of other colors ... even if they are inferior. ;) Be especially nice to the owners of the smurf colored Marauders or they will show up in droves with their little blue flags waving. :D The black Marauder owners are complete bullies and the dark toreador pink Marauder owners have an inferiority complex.

But seriously, this forum rocks there are some great folks on here who are very knowledgeable about the Marauder. You'll find this site to be an abundant resource and somewhat of an addiction.

I've owned mine for all of a month and I'm so addicted to the car that I want one in every color.

Con grats and welcome! With that much mileage I would start looking at things that may need to be replaced or just the regular flushes that might be needed cause who knows if they were done before.

Rocfan1;

Your profile only says your 19 years old. To better answer your question about what modifications would be in order it would be nice to know where you live at least the state and what your goals are. Not much sense in telling you to go to Florida when you live in Michigan to get mod's done.

As a first step, regardless of mileage, go with a flash tuner Xcal II from one of our vendors here. They are Marauder specific, not Mustang or generic 4.6, but Marauder.

But before that, I would assertain when the tranny fluid was changed. If not known then change the tranny fluid, determine the condition and that will tell you if money needs to be spent in that area. Engine Oil, same-O-same-O, have your brake lines flushed and coolant system flushed. Many owners neglect to have this done, same for your serpentine belt and tension pulley.
Battery should be checked also.

Of course you know that tires cannot be rotated, however, front end alignment is critical to longevity of front rubber.

Once you have determined the status of your car then flash tune it and see if you would like more performance. Chassis mod's are needed if you want to whizz around the corners, hills, OTR courses. That would consist of control arms, sway bars and brake upgrades.

If going fast from lite to lite is your bag then another approach may be in order. Think in terms of how much you can spend at any one time and add mods correspondingly. For example, 4:10 gears cost about 700.00 parts and labor and will help in the low end performance. A higher, 3500 RPM stall converter costs about 1500.00 and will also help low end performance.
Adding just a supercharger kit will add tremendeous power, low and high ends, with no other mod really needed but the cost is 5 to 8K installed.

Think before you leap.

I suppose... Mods is the purpose of the post... Modes would be another story... like in which mode of the mod would u use...and would it break the brakes? or the " their versus they're doin' it all the time" ..and so forth and so on...

Congrats on the marauder. You are know one of the elite few. For the first couple months just watch and be weary of the way it drives. 70,000+plus miles in a few years sounds more like highway miles. Which I believe is better for the car than stop and go traffic city miles.

Sorry,

I've been on here a short time but learned alot fast.

Most SB owners are either sissy's or girls.

Black is the only real Marauder color, notice all of the Logos on this site are of the much more desireable black MM because real men usually buy those, notice no Silver Birch Marauder Jackets for example, wearing one would most certainly get your ass whooped.

Blue is mostly purchased by guys who still live with their mom or work for Geek Squad .

DTR Marauders usually come with a cd of the Village people in the black holder.

Good Luck sissy boy... :cool4: Regards.. Richy

Welcome to the site....people who talk bad about the Silver Birch really are just jealous:D. Silver Birches are a little faster than all the rest...our paint doesnt weigh as much.... It also hides the dirt much better and we are far less in number....Blue being the rarest and DTR 2nd.

Welcome again....there is a wealth of information here and plenty of fun to be poked.;)
