I got a simple and maybe dumb question but here it goes.
For you guys that have made runs at the track, did any of you run with overdrive on? or off? does it make a difference? and has anyone ran once off and once on and seen a noticeable difference in times?

Over drive, traction control (if equipt), A/C all off. If you not running drag radials or slicks, drive around the water box. Small burout to clean the tires. After you stage, power brake up to 2,200 - 2,300 RPM to load the torque converter.

You absolutely DO NOT want your tranny to shift into O/D at WOT. That's a no no...ALOHA

O/D should be OFF. A couple of years back, I forgot and left it on a few time ... no change whatsoever in ET, since I was still in 3rd gear going through the traps.

FYI - If you make a 1320 pass in 1st gear, you WILL need a Trans Rebuild ;)

one more question, i like to drive with OD off while cruisin the city or anywhere at low speed. but if i take off and then get to high speeds like 60 and up i turn on the OD, will this cause damage to anything?

Nope that is what I do. Once I am at, or near my cruising speed...on goes the OD....
