How do you guys grease your Metco control arms because this Powerbuilt grease gun I bought is completely hopeless. The gun wont fit on any of the fittings, nor will the 90 degree coupler. they also wont work on powerbuilt brand grease fittings.

If any of you have managed to use a powerbuilt grease gun successfully, I'd like to know how you did that. But I'm guessing the gun I have now is completely hopeless....so to summarize, how do you guys grease your Metco control arms.

Oh, and now a dumb question...Have any of you ever taken your MM to a Greasepro/Jiffy lube type place and had someone grease the fittings for you?

I use a hand-held grease gun with a flexible hose. As stated in the literature, make sure you ONLY USE SYNTHETIC GREASE on the Metco control arms and watts link or you will damage the components. Synthetic grease is required for these Metco units. Jiffy lube and the like DO NOT synthetic grease. It can be found at most auto stores.

Get the grease gun from any FLAPS, as MarauderTJA said get the flexible hose. Mine works great. and again... only use synthetic grease.

The M3A1 Greasegun. Be sure to use the synthetic .45 cal. on the bushings. Dennis:beer:

Go to Autozone, ask for a greasegun and some synthetic grease. Load the gun and put the discharge end on the zerk fittings and pump the handle., Your wife or girl friend can do this. Even I can.

Don't get the cheapest one or the most expensive one. I spent about $15.00 on mine which included the flexible hose.

Thanks genius....you know I tried that and ended up with a grease gun that doesn't fit on the fittings.

funny story about the local autozone here, they have no idea what synthetic grease is...so Im not going there.

My mechanic can't figure out why this grease gun doesn't fit.

FYI I prefer buckshot to .45 ACP.

funny, I spent about $15 on mine too. In fact I remember spending more than that. It was around about $20 after the coupler.

HUMOR ME people, Im sure your greaseguns have some sort of writing on them.

Another thing, this is funny and all and Im not getting mad at you or anything, but I'd like to get these fittings greased before the autocross this Sunday...so jokes with info would be nice. thanks

Sorry not making fun of you, It's just few people know what an M3A1 is. Did you put a flex hose on the gun you bought? If you did, at the end that goes onto the zirk fitting can you loosen or tighten the nozzle. Sometimes these will tighten enough that you can not slip it over the fitting. Try to loosen it a bit and see if it will fit. These fittings are a pretty standard size so I would really look into something like that.

Sorry, didn't know that you had no idea WTF a grease gun is. They are on the rack here in Fl. at the Autozone stores and the synthetic grease is in cartridges standing along side the regular grease. They must be jerking your chain, too. Have you called your girl friend yet? Dennis:rofl: Edit Note. 2 mags taped together up and down will put 30 .45 caliber holes in a douch bag vs. a few large BB's. Just a thought in case some dummy was busting your hump about grease guns. Oh, find a new mechanic, too.
